This may not be thread-worthy, but I'm doing it anyways. NB4 thread police.

It seems as if we are already experiencing a minor meltdown. A few things to keep in mind:

Before the season started, when predictions were being made, I didn't see one person who seriously predicted an undefeated season. As a matter of fact, I RARELY saw a prediction of 9 wins or more. My point? Before the season we ALL marked this game as an "L."

The final score didn't reflect how close the game actually was. We were 4 big plays from contending. By comparison, Bama got blown out by OU last year way worse than we did, and they weren't even in Norman.

We played really well on Defense. Aside from UGA, we will not see another offense this good the rest of the way.

We might see 2-3 defenses this good, but we were very close to putting up 20+ tonight.

Florida looks beatable after going to 3OT with KY at home.

Point is, we are in good shape and on track to fulfill the majority of our pre-season predictions. We might even win an extra game or 2!

I do think Worley needs to keep the ball more or be replaced by someone who will. That's my only gripe with him. A run threat at QB would do wonders for this offense.

I am predicting 7 wins still and hoping for 8 or 9. So RELAX, those of you whom are panicking tonight! It's a long season and we haven't even played our first SEC game!

Go Vols! GBO! V,B! VFL

The most positive thing about tonight is that it has no bearing on the SEC standings.

I think there will always be doom and gloom guys win or lose but most Vols fans I've talked to in the real world were not in meltdown mode. Most real concern shown is for the O-Line. I'm just glad we can actually play a little defense. O-Line will get there. They grew up a lot tonight, good lesson going into a bye...

This is volnation. Every game people will gripe over stupid stuff. Sure there was mistakes that was made by players and coaches tonight, but, I don't think this loss hurt our team in anyway. They will continue to get better and better and the freshman already look better than what we have seen on the field the past few years. Future is bright. Don't think I have seen a "farh butch" thread yet so that's a start Volnation.

This game played out almost exactly the way I thought it would.. Both our lines got bullied by older, bigger guys..

We got some bad breaks with turnovers and a couple terrible calls on offense that I wasn't prepared for.. But other than that, I'm proud of my Vols.

I'm so ready for coleman and McNeil to finally come along.. Seems like they each get abused every game.

Honestly I think this was one of the calmest loses on VolNation in awhile. Sure there were a few knuckleheads, but overall it's been fairly positive.

Refs didn't exactly help either. But I'm with ya. Proud of the boys in Orange!

We dont need to force Worley to run, but he could have picked up a few 1st downs tonite on 3 and outs. The offense is horrible, Worley needs to be under center making quick timing throws and taking advantage of play action. This offense is so limited, and the Accountant is so out of his league its laughable.

I honestly believe this is the best team we will play all year. I think they could hand it to any sec school this year. OP is exactly right, this year is no where close to over. The sec is becoming more and more balanced each year, look what SC did last night and I still think Georgia was the better team. Our d is one of the better defenses we've had in the last 10 years. Our o line has got to improve which I think they will, heck they already improved some as the game went on last night. I still think we beat two teams were not supposed too. I'm ready for revenge at Neyland next year. GBO

We're probably a 5-7 team. Anyone with a lick of sense saw it before the season started. Nothing has changed. Next year we get to evaluate the best staff in 'Murica for realz.

I don't see much of a meltdown at all. This might be the best I've seen this board handle a loss actually. We do have a few but mostly it seems that this loss is being viewed in proper perspective. Should be fun moving forward, and I think the season will turn out alright.

Worley didn't need to be running tonight. He was already getting hit every play. The last thing we needed was an lb getting a clean shot with a full head of steam. There is too big of a talent drop off between 1st QB and 2nd QB. It wasn't worth the risk.
