Program History
- Presbyterian College is in it's first year of elgibility for the NCAA Tournament and Big South Tournament. They started their transitional period in 2007 and have scheduled a lot of Division I schools but had to wait until this season to be approved by the Executive Committee.
- Previous Division I upsets include: #20 Cincinatti, Auburn and Wake Forrest (2011-2012 season)
- "Blue Hose", the teams mascot, comes from the early 1900's. Sports writers used the term because of the blue socks the athletic teams wore. The school officially adopted the nickname in the 50's and it represents fierce Scottish warriors.
- The only notable basketball affiliated person from the school is ex-Vanderbilt basketball coach Roy Skinner.

Against Tennessee
0-0.
The two schools have never played against each other so this will be Presbyterian's first trip to Knoxville.

Interesting to Note
- PC has played one of the toughest OOC / road schedules in the country so far.
- Joshua Clyburn, a 6'8 Post player is the second leading scorer on the team and comes off the bench.
- This team lost almost 60% of it's scoring and four starters from last years team.

I think they lost the Jacksonville St game too. At least according to the 2 sites I looked at.

Thanks for the info. We should win but I don't think we should take any team lightly and I am serious when I say that. Just look at our past.
GO VOLS!

Put them away early so we can get some of the younger guys some much needed experience before we get into January.

and ftr, I know nothing about this team. I'm not familiar with the coaching staff or what style they play. If anyone has any info, it's much appreciated!

Stokes should dominate playing against a 6-7 6-5 front court.
Bad sign if we don't beat this team by 25+

This team is also in its first season of D1 basketball. This need to be domination from beginning to end IMO. Even once the 2nd team guys start playing.

We played better teams than this in Europe.
I won't be satisfied if we don't put 90+ on them.

No, they are in their first year of tourney eligibility. They have been playing a D1 schedule since 2007.

Okay. I misunderstood when I read that. I will scale back my expectations accordingly. :).

I know each game is different, but they lost to Cornell by 40+, the same one that Vandy beat last night by double digits. Vandy is mediocre this year.

I do just want wins, but there is a problem if we don't put them away and win by 20+, even being limited offensively.

Nothing at all against yankee vol, but shaun1985's previews would make a fantastic opening for game threads. Just add tv info and basically, a perfect start for a game thread.

goin off subject here for a second but does anyone kno the situation with derek reese

He tore his labrum iirc. Many thought he'd need a redshirt but he has recovered quicker than expected. The staff will not use his redshirt and he has been participating in practice recently. You probably won't see much of him, but we can use the size since it appears Maymon won't return.

Tonight actually may be a chance for him to get some action if he is indeed ready.
