Has anyone made any preseason Vols bets? Vols will win X amount of games or will beat X team?

I just made one with a guy who bet me Kentucky will have a better overall record than Tennessee and will beat UT head to head. The winner gets $40 of our colleges merchandise. He is actually a Michigan fan though.

If you're going to bet, make it worth your while.

Made an offer in the recruiting forum. Bunch of fools saying we only win 5 or 6 games. I put $100 on 7 wins and nobody talked about it anymore.

I've got 2 Cokes and a package of Twinkles on Bama & Tn game with a co-worker who is natural born Tenn. resident who roots for Bammer (disgusting I know and she even has a daughter who graduated from UT but roots for Candy and a son who is a current UT student). What a screwed up family.

Figure if I can't beat her, I'll at least blow her sugar up and make her butt bigger.

I'm all in...$100 on a hard 7 win with the boss(bammer). It's going to either be so damned sweet or so damned sickening.

My buddy and I have a 150.00 dollar bet on the Tennessee-Oregon game. He says Oregon will win by 35+ points.. Crazy!

That is thoroughly disgusting. The world's most dysfunctional family.

Mods. Give him his own thread for the Oregon game. I want to see his game day experience live. Good Luck!

I don't think he needs luck.

That spread is asinine and most likely a great investment for our Vol friend.

Oregon's average margin of victory last year was 25 points and that was against teams who they out recruited by an average of 30+ spots.

Did you watch any of their games last year? They took their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half A LOT. They could have scored 100 in some of those games if they wanted to. I hope we can keep ot close, but we wont, IMO.

Good luck to the guy who made the bet.

My son(19) thinks we win 9 games in regular season. I think it is possible that we win only 5.

If I am right he shaves his head and if he is right I run down Cumberland Ave in an orange speedo and sneakers.

I expect it will be 6 or maybe 7 if we lucky. If nobody is lucky , its speedo time!!

Here is what I can tell you: assuming they "took their foot off the pedal" they did so against some incredibly weak competition. Oregon played one team, 1 TEAM, all year who had better talent than they did. Granted, they beat that team (USC) but also lost to a Stanford team who has talent on par to SCAR.

The counter argument to this is that Bama played no one whom they out-recruited and also lost to one team whom they didn't out recruit. The difference between a team like Bama and Oregon is that Bama is the best recruited team in the NCAA. Oregon conversely has recruiting averages on par with UT. That would make Oregon a mid-tier SEC team, assuming their new coach can get as much out of them as Kelly. Contrary to popular opinion, Oregon does not perform well against teams with similar or better talent. Truth be told, most of the NCAA doesn't (about 2/3 of the games can be predicted by simply looking at talent averages).
