Obviously it would be fantastic to beat the #2 team in the country this Sat. Also, obviously, we could possibly get a beat down.
But with so many here seemingly predicting a Win on Sat, many here will probably have a famous Volnation all out meltdown/Negavol fest if we lose.

So I went back and looked and was curious if ANYONE on this board had OR as a predicted win this year??
Just don't blow a gasket if we don't win a game that noone predicted as a win.

This was my prediction back in June or July (if I remember correctly).

AP - W
WKU - W
OR - L
FL - L
S.AL - W
GA - L
USC - L Maybe W??
AL - L
Mizz - W
Auburn -W
Vandy - W
KY - W

7-5 overall

My point is, even if this Sat. or the rest of the season doesn't go all that well, I still think we have a good coach, staff and a hell of a good recruiting class coming. Just don't expect miracles overnight!

Please flame away in the great Volnation tradition! :)

I agree Florida very beatable

Yes, Florida is often beatable and we often have the lead but when we look at the score board and see that we may actually beat them, we start to second guess ourselves.

Look at all of the instances in which we had the lead, late in the game and they made some 4th & 23 play. Or we were making our last offensive possesion of the game and they intercepted a pass and won.

Time after time after time....

We can beat them but most of the time we lose either because (1) Fulmer was out coached or (2) We start to doudt. " Am I dreaming? Is this actually true" then we end up losing.

Can't help but wonder how bad the Meltdown will be IF we lose by a fairly wide margin?

Like cockroaches, I am sure all the Negavols who have been all but invisible lately, will come out the woodwork. :banghead2:

Its a Oregon. We are in the SEC. They will look to put a hurt on us. I'm predicting Oregon 58. Tennessee 24. Now shoot me for being a realist for this week. But I'm praying Tennessee 34. Oregon 31. Then everyone thinks we are back. We go to Florida. They find their offense. We lose. Florida 42. Tennessee 7.

I think Florida is a possible win, they look bad.....

Florida looks bad offensively, but wait till we play them, they will suddenly look world class...happens every year. I suspect we'll have trouble scoring over 10pts against Florida

No way. If we manage to knock off Oregon, we'll play fast and loose the rest of the year. This is a hungry team that just isn't comfortable in its own skin yet.

If we beat Oregon, which is unlikely, EVERYTHING will change. Predictions would change.

There's a difference between a prediction and hope. I said (not on this board) 6-6 pre season. I think that's still on track. Hope the first six is a higher number and the second lower.

As for Florida, I'm not convinced that their O is bad. They dominated the Miami game but lost due to turnovers. I do believe they can be beaten. But, we can't count on them turning it over four times in the red zone. History has shown we bring out their best.

Florida couldn't score 42. If we beat Oregon Florida will get SMASHED.

My prediction was also 7-5, with Ws over AP, WKU, S. Alabama, then sweeping November. UF looks more beatable than they did preseason, but they have a bye week while we travel cross-country to play the #2 team, then we have to turn right around and travel to the Swamp. There's always a chance we'll beat SCAR in Neyland.

But I'm not as confident as I was that we'll sweep November. It will depend on Worley and the ability of freshmen to become playmakers. We've had a lot of key injuries, so 6-6 wouldn't shock me. Having the Ducks as one of our OOC games handicaps us this year.

9/10 times I'd say I would never predict a win against Florida because...duh... , but if we can hang with Oregon even close, I'll have a hard time counting us out against anybody.

Still holding on to my 7-5 prediction.

We win one against an opponent we aren't supposed to. (Florida, Georgia, USCe)

We lose one we aren't supposed to. (Vandy, Mizzou, Auburn)

Learn a lot, underclassman get valuable experience, great recruiting class and team looks to challenge for SEC east next year.
