Preston Bailey the 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive lineman from Montgomery Bell Academy seems to go out of his way in the Go Vols article to say he's open to schools other than UT, HV, what's up? have we really offered? and do we really want him? I went to school at Father Ryan and MBA (Momma's Boys Academy) was our big rival, so it wouldnt break my heart if he went to Michigan. One of my happiest moments as someone that follows recruiting was when ingle Martin chose UF over Tennessee, maybe the only time I was happy when Tennessee lost a recruit.

Bailey is almost a UT lock. Everyone around him has said so and he's said himself that he has always rooted for UT. Just the game, remember Chris Donald?

yes, yes, yes I remember Donald....he really got me when he took the UT sticker off of his truck....I dont think Bailey will cause me quite the same stomach trouble Donald did since he's not as highly rated

Bailey is not commited to Tennessee because he wants to take visits and be recruited but ultimately there is a 100,000% chance he will be a Vol.

I think alot of these kids say they hate the phones ringing off the hook, the constant texting, & the barrage of letters, but they secretly love it

Father Ryan graduate. Your hatred for MBA extends into your fandom for UT? What's the beef? Maybe the "Momma's Boys" are just too good. You graduated in 1988? That's a longstanding hatred for your "rival". I don't get it.

I went to Franklin and I still hate Brentwood athletes. If there was one that was REAL GOOD and he went to UT, I would forgive him.

he'd have to be really, really good......kind of like in the movie "Arthur" when she says, "Arthur, the right woman could stop you from drinking." and he says, "She have to be a really big woman."

La Vergne senior defensive end Collins Ukwu toured Georgia Tech’s campus and worked out for coaches there when he took an unofficial visit Saturday.
Georgia Tech was the third Division I-A school the 6-5, 216-pound defensive lineman has visited this summer. He’s also gone to Memphis and Louisville.
“It was a good trip,” Ukwu said. “They had a camp going on for upcoming seniors. I had my cleats and stuff with me, so I did a little one-on-one stuff for them.”
Ukwu said MBA senior offensive lineman Preston Bailey and defensive end William Green of Spain Park (Hoover, Ala.) were among the athletes at the camp. Green is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 2 defensive end in the nation.
Ukwu, whose parents are originally from Nigeria, said he didn’t receive an offer and hasn’t been offered by any I-A programs.
“(Georgia Tech) said my grades weren’t good enough, but they are going to evaluate me even more as the season goes on,” Ukwu said. “I’m going to fax in my transcript and make sure they see how it’s progressing.”

Arent getting Ivy League looks: Hillsboro senior quarterback Matt Arent has attracted interest this summer from various Ivy League schools.
Arent, a co-op student from M.L. King, said that both Pennsylvania and Harvard have him listed as their top quarterback.
“It looks like I will probably do the Ivy League thing,” said the 6-foot-2 Arent. “Right now I don’t have any offers yet as far as Division I goes. I think it’s just a matter of time.
“If we go out the first five weeks and execute and do our thing, they should come along.”
Division I-A schools Colorado and Northwestern each stopped by Hillsboro during spring practice.

this is from the Tennessean and it had me wondering why so much talent from Nashville heads out of state. Hillsboro sent another couple of guys to CO, but what really gets me is all the Brentwood Academy guys that go to Auburn and end up being very good. MBA seems to send guys everywhere but Tennessee.

Auburn has pretty much plucked whoever they want from Williamson Co the last few years, and this has to stop, in my opinion. As for the prospect you mention, he goes to MLK, which is a top 25 public high school in the nation, so him going to a good academic school is expected.

I you look at it objectively, the Vols have generally gone after the guys they wanted pretty hard here in Nashville. They missed on Patrick Turner, but they got Todd Campbell (huge for recruiting last year), LaMarcus Coker, Marsalous Johnson, Austin Rogers, John Henderson and many more. Sure Auburn seems to have had a pipeline to Brentwood Academy, but how many of those guys have turned into really good football players?

You can't win them all. Patrick Turner was coerced by that California sun and those California girls. Harrison Smith is another that shouldn't have got away not to mention Warren.

Why in the world do I care who Northwestern and Colorado are recruiting?

if he's the top cat for Harvard and UPenn, he ain't our guy. Would love to see it work out for the Crimson though
