Prince hurt again, thoughts from Philly

I don't get not having the pep band there. I guess it's the money. Good stuff, Griff. Hope you do better research on the opposing team than that guy.

I thought we were playing in Temple's home gym. No band ever travels to an opponent's gym.

As for Old Spice, I am honestly having a hard time believing that the band would voluntarily turn down an all-expenses-paid extended weekend trip to Disney World to play for the Vols.

Or maybe they just didn't want to miss the football game.
Good article, Griff. You seem to know your stuff when it comes to hoops. I enjoy reading your article. Just FYI, you might want to look at pore in wiktionary. Only mentioning it because you are publishing it on the web. :hi:

Pearl was actually quoted by someone, and I can't remember who, as saything that Christmas would be guarded mostly by Hopson and Tatum. The Philadelphia writer actually did know what he was talking about. Came straight from the horses mouth.

Kevin Tatum wrote that in today's Inquirer. He listed the Chattanooga Free Press as being the source for Bruce's quote.

Pearl said it at his Monday press conference and we reported it then...hardly news....

but Tyler and Wayne also had their turns at Christmas

Most of the time, in man-to-man, centers guard centers, wings guard wings, and shooting guards guard shooting guards

To say Tennessee's "top freshmen'' however implies that Hopson and Woolridge have established themselves as the top defensive freshmen

not so...Tatum and Negadu are better defenders...

The article was right off the team release and it was lazy for the reporter not to quote Pearl himself or at least do a phone interview...Pearl is quite accessible

I talked to the Philly media about it today--they admit, it's a pro town, and college sports don't get nearly the same attention

I did find it strange that Tatum was quoting the Free Press. Not sure the last time I saw a beat writer use another newspaper as a source of a quote. Also, way to get the loose ball on press row today, Griffith.
