First time I was in Printer's Alley I was 18 or 19 in 1971 or 72 and the drinking age was 18 at the time. It was to visit Skull's Rainbow room to watch the strippers and one in particular, Heaven Lee. It has changed some since then, as have I.
The second time I went was to pay my wife's cousins for helping to move us. They were good ole country boys and they enjoyed the strippers very much. LOL.
Ahh to be young again.

We are in the same generation. I was born in 1953, and when I was 18, Tennessee lowered the legal drinking age to 18, then the year I turned 21, they raised the legal drinking age back to 21. Yeah, I had my stupid period, drinking too much, and especially when, at that age, a person hasn't any tolerance for alcohol. Thank God, I lived through it, and now don't drink alcohol at all, and try my best to live a Christian life.

Pretty spectacular. Not only do you remember the strippers name, you remember it after 50 years.

Gotta love Skulls and then Brass Stables. Skulls has rebranded and is a great 1920’s style bar that has burlesque on the weekend. The other little bars in Printers are great but the area is commercialized now. Not the old school dove bars and back room strip clubs

My wife and I attended her family reunion on Saturday and there were 2 women over 90 years old and could recall their hard lives as children, especially after the death of one ladies father and living through the depression with only her mom and siblings and how the extended family took care of them. My wife and I marveled at the little things we remember from our childhood yet we can't remember what we ate for breakfast.
Took me a minute but I remembered Heaven Lee's name and the fact that she was originally from Cuba. There is a pic of her on Pinterest in a skimpy outfit, but can't post here. LOL
I am always impressed how VN posters remember so many details about games they attended. I turned 70 in July so it's downhill from here. GBO

I worked in a bldg right across the street in late 70's. We used to go in the Alley for the Business Man's Lunch. Quite entertaining. I won't repeat the delectable lunch entree's but it certainly made the afternoon work atmosphere very memorable!

Go Big O!

I do remember that she had a clear plastic bathtub on stage that she slowly "bathed" in. Would have been a good time to be one of the sponges she used.

Also born in '53. Landed at UTK in '71. Also stupid back then. Smoked too much pot and forgot to go to most classes. My best friend got pulled over by the cops that summer because he was driving the wrong way down Printers Alley. Ah, the memories (well the ones I remember).

GO VOLS!

Was born in July 53 myself and also attended UTK in 71. Looking back now and realizing how STUPID I was and sometimes still am, I wonder why in the world we let kids vote at 18. Raise it to 25 at least.

We were out for a buddies birthday and we’re waiting to get into Brass Stable. We were about hammered drunk and this guy dressed up like Gumby wouldn’t stop ****ing with us. We told him several times to move on, but he just wouldn’t leave us alone. Gumby got knocked out and left in the middle of Printer’s Alley that night. Sorry Gumby.

I went to the Brass Stable back in the early 90’s with a group of guys from work. We’d been there 30 minutes or so when one of the strippers came by, put her boobs about 2 feet away from one of the guys and started shooting breast milk in his face πŸ˜†

I was a little tipsy in the BT one night & not paying particularly good attention. I guess I was pretty close to the stage, because the dancer spun & hit me in the head with the fat roll of her stomach. I don't know who was more embarrassed....me or her. Ah to be young lol.

And I have listened to most Brad Thor novels. Knew I'd seen that name before!

Um, you do realize the OP was referring to Printers Alley in New York City not Nashville?

Starchief, that's the official NYC UT Alumni bar so you should be in good company

I noticed, but it was so far off track already that I just added my story about Printers alley in Nashville.

I did partake of a little herb myself back then.

Will anyone be at Printers Alley for the VA game on Sat? I’ll be in town visiting my son 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

My son would be there but we are flying him and daughter-in-law down for the game.

I was there for the Vandy game last year. We went up for the Macy's parade.

Even for the Vandy game, and a holiday, there were quite a few UT fans there and one humble Vandy fan. Poor fella.
