Maybe, just maybe, CLK is telling these guys to play off there visits to TN and on NSD make the huge shock wave through the nation! I am just tryin to spread some hope through the nation, Volnation that is.

I really just don't see how on our biggest weekend with Gameday and the atmosphere we had at TBA that those guys were like,"ya it was ok". Or like Richardson said," it blew me away!" and now he is supposively 100% gators when he gets back. Something just doesn't seem right.

I have come to the conclusion of all the recruits that go to Aub over us that they will regret it after next year in Neyland. I have a funny feeling that we will kick their :shaking2:. So heads up boys and girls. It ain't over until its over!

Weather forcast Alert!!!!!!

There seems to be some activity in Knoxville. An Orange Swarm is about to commense. Those of you in the Southeastern parts of the US please be take cover. There will be no mercy from the Swarm. :td:

That theory could make Phillips' behavior make more sense but I won't hold my breath.

That's why I'm not forming opinions or worrying about
NSD because we don't know what CLK knows.

If we only sign 18 to 20 we will at least have extra scholarships for next year which seems to have more talent in it than this years overall class

This signing class won't make or break CLK. I think Marlon brown is the only must have, since he was cited in CLK's welcome speech. Like most, i would love to see us haul in positions we need, but i won't be disappointed if we do not make a top 20 class either.

We may lose some guys but we may pick up a couple we didn't think we had a chance with.

Is it a dead period right now until Wed?

This signing class won't make or break CLK. .

It DOES have that potential. I won't rehash the facts concerning the OL but just go to Rivals and look at the roster. Four guys will be gone after this year and only 8 will be left. Needless to say, not all 8 are SEC caliber guys... not even close enough to be coached up in all likelihood.

Most people don't think 09 will be a good year. It will be the best year for 3 or 4 as far as OL experience goes... take it fwiw.

Assuming they only sign Schofield and Revis, the depth chart will be loaded with young, inexperienced guys in 10 and 11. A losing record in '10 would not be surprising on the current trend line.

If they overachieve because of coaching this fall and get 9 or 10 wins and then follow that up with a great recruiting class next year then I think some "pain" in 10 will be acceptable to most. If we get to 11 and CLK hasn't won more than 8 games in a season then he'll be on the hot seat.

If OTOH he pulls a miracle and signs a couple more solid OL's to go with the other guys he's getting AND they are the coaches I think they are... then I think they'll surprise alot of people with how fast they rise.

And yes before you ask, I think a couple of quality OL commits in this class are really that critical to the next 2-4 years.

Dead period until Friday night at Midnight is my understanding.

Bottom line is we all knew coming in with a new staff would be difficult, and CLK's 2nd year would be much better.

Stay the course! Work like Heck!:)

Sure... funny how you don't get tired of people repeating the non-sense that the staff can coach up players when they don't actually have players on the roster to coach up...

When people are no longer ignorant of this problem or else stop pretending it doesn't exist... I'll stop repeating it.

I keep repeating it because I think it is absolutely critical to CLK's success at UT and the near term (2-7years) future of the program. I keep waiting for someone to show me factually how I'm wrong... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

If you think you are tired of reading it... then you can barely imagine how tired I am of people not getting the significance of it.

Given the obvious need at OL and DT last year and now even more critical this year, I am a bit surprised we haven't been in on more recruits just from an opportunity standpoint. We weren't that solid with enough even with Fulmer and Adkins recruiting OL and Chavis' staff recruiting DT. I just don't get it. I'm sure Orgeron and crew understand the significance. We'll likely have to deal with a lot of youth on the lines in 2010 which will really test the quality of our position coaching. That will likely be a 3-4 loss year but position us for a potentially great run in 2011 and beyond. 2010 will be the tough, transition year when we either work through the past recruiting deficiencies or this staff crashes and burns.

i'm gettin so sick of this crap, i cant wait for nsd to come and go. i'll be happy if the only guy we get is marlon brown. even if we lose phillips, stokes, and oku our class will still be 10 times better than last years ridiculously pathetic class. i aint complainin no more about who we do and dont get.

I don't really think supposively is a word. I think you mean supposedly. No biggie. You have just used it before and I thought someone should let you know.

According to rivals.com rankings, the current Vols roster is made up of 2 top5 classes in the past 4 years. Even Georgia, Alabama and LSU don't have 2 top5 classes in the past 4 years.

My biggest problem is that you think there is no way a freshman can come in and play next year. I think Kiffin knows the holes and has a plan to fill them. Losing out on Moses, Hall, and Phillips sucks, but we will go after guys again next year. Kiffin has done a great job just getting Hall and Moses to look at the program, much less have us in their final group. The thing about recruiting is that you can be the best at it, still doesn't mean every kid is going to buy into it or want to come, but the idea that as an OL you will play early here will help us a lot next year IMO.

On a happier note Joe Montana's kid enjoyed his visit this weekend and plans on making an official one next season!
