that our defensive struggles are attributable to us being totally confused by an unorthodox offensive system rather than us being outmuscled, outblocked, or out of sync. thoughts? ainge and the offense still looked great...i was very pleased. should have had a 21 point lead if ainge wasn't picked off.

what's the update on foster and inky johnson? i was listening to the game on the radio...the injury to inky DID NOT sound good.

I think everybody needs to relax. Tennessee is used to playing more regular offenses that the one Air Force brought to the table tonight. I think the D against Florida will look much improved compared to what I saw tonight. As for Inky, it didn't look good. As several others have stated on here, it looked like he had no control over his right arm. When he was being carted off the field, a trainer had to lift his right arm for him as he was signaling he was ok to the crowd with his left.

He took the helmet shot to his neck/right shoulder, so "hopefully" it's just a shoulder injury and nothing worse.

we don't need to relax too much. the reason i'm not really concerned is that against more conventional offenses (i.e., cal), we have already proved we can dominate. again, like i said, i didn't watch the game but it sounds like we just were totally dominated at the line of scrimmage. i'm hoping that we were just fooled by the scheme.

it's a bit disconcerting that we couldn't make adjustments at any point in the game. keep in mind that urban myth runs an unconventional offense as well, albeit one that we are more used to. if it wasn't for one huge stop, we would have been faced with a 1 minute drive to win the game.

I think if it was a shoulder injury the trainer wouldn't be moving it at all

I don't know that I'd say we were really dominated at the line of scrimmage. We were tricked and faked out more than anything. There were a lot of times when we didn't know who had the ball until they were 3-4 yards past the line.

their offense is craazy......never actually watched an air force game, always heard, their the first team to rush over 100 on us in 13 games, i think we just werent prepared for THAT style offense, we still have a very good defense and you better believe chavis will be watching game film , and seeing what we did wrong and make the guys fix it to get ready for yall know who, i think this will be an eye opener for us going into next week i think itll make us practice harder and want to come out swinging against fl, bc you better believe they prob will eat us up tonight on midnight college gameday. PHEW did i about $hit myself, what a close one.....from now on can we please talk about the team that week whether it be AF MARSHALL whoever not talk about FL alll week or auburn or whatever tough game we have the FOLLOWING week. "ITS GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER" GO VOLS.....

i believe the reason we struggled against the flexbone is because we have too much speed on the defensive side of the ball

Yeah we were a little too aggressive and overran a lot of plays. Our throttle was stuck on high.

Talking about one team does not necessarily mean we're overlooking another. I don't think ANYBODY in the whole USA expected AF to play us so tough. On the other hand, UF ALWAYS plays us tough, so it's natural to want to start talking them up a little early.
