Not sure how I feel about this. Would get rid of the Chattanooga's and Austin Peay's off the schedule and increase the playoff field. Things are changing quickly with super leagues, NIL, and transfer portal...

Oh Hell No, we need to keep that form of money out of college football. NIL is bad enough but once you allow Disney and investment bankers in, college football will lose all control and what we like about college football will no longer be what is important. Once you let corporate investors in they will "control" what we see on the field. All of the pagentry of college football will be gone. It will be the NFL-Lite and I for one do nor want that. NIL is more than I want but that ship has sailed.

The fleet has sailed. Pageantry left town on television years ago. No time for tradition or nostalgia on the tube. Sorry but dedicated players a rarity too. Sitting out bowl games is predictable. Look at the labels on the fields, stadiums, arenas, and parking lots.
The new norm has arrived.

Unfortunately college football has basically become professional now with NIL. A salary cap will happen at some point. They are making it more like the NFL each year. It sucks. The only plus I see from this is we get more match-ups with other conferences. Like the idea of playing Penn State, Clemson, UNC, Miami, Michigan, etc occasionally. Man the last 10 years have been crazy for college football as a whole. At the bottom of the article an anonymous SEC executive said it's basically just a matter of time before this happens unfortunately.
