Taliban Tells Pakistani Christians: Convert or Die

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Christians in a Pakistani town beset by pro-Taliban militants sought government protection Wednesday, the eve of a deadline for them to convert to Islam or face violence.

About 500 Pakistani Christians in Charsadda, a town in the North West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan, received letters earlier this month telling them to close their churches and convert by Thursday or be the target of "bomb explosions."

Several Christians, a tiny minority in the predominantly Muslim country, have fled town and others are living in fear, community leaders said.

Forget what the Taliban says. Just read the Koran and you'll see it's in no way a passive religion.

aside from one thread that I wish I had never started, I can't really think of any point that I have said anything completely off base. Especially not generalizations in regards to an entire religious group.

Well, 2 intelligent posters posted after him and neither made any remarks about him looking ignorant with his thread topic. So again, not sure your original post in this thread made any sense.

I think spin was referring to the the text of the Koran.

Christians killing in the name was for political reasons not spiritual, which of course one can fully argue with Islam.

A few seconds of research disspelled some myths I had about Islam. It's both violent and non-violent, just like the Old Testament.

But far more violent than non-violent.

I'm actually shocked right now, as I bought into the "peaceful religion" propoganda. It's a violent religion, with a handful of passages that sound quite peaceful.
