Props to USF’s Upcoming OOC Schedule

Then Google is wrong. They've played a few. But it's very, very few.

But, if I'm being honest, there are maybe 3 or 4 teams west of the Mississippi that I even care to see Bama play: USC, Oklahoma, Texas and maybe Nebraska. So, I don't blame UF all that much.

I didn’t think it was possible to fail at Google, but somehow Jax pulled it off. Then again, no one here ever accused him of being all that intelligent.

UF doesn’t have to travel out of the state, let alone its time zone to find quality OOC opponents or field a competitive schedule. Eight SEC games, 2-3 cupcakes and FSU. Toss in Miami for good measure every 4-5 years over the past two decades.

That said, I look forward to using my AARP discount 10 years from now for a hotel and airline tickets to Boulder. Ditto for Austin.

So far, Florida has never played an OOC team west of the Mississippi at their home stadium.

Let's have names and dates to disprove that statement.

I think the answer is zero.

Google can not find a single time where Florida has played an OCC game west of the Mississippi at another's school's stadium. That is sad.

As I recalled, they did finally play MeatChicken in Dallas (2017) and got badly spanked.

But why is this important? Is West of the Miss. River that important?

High profile OOC games are fun for the alumni but they are really for recruiting. UT needs to recruit nationally. UF doesn't. What do they gain by playing Arizona St., Stanford, or Wisconsin?

They played at SC in the early 80’s. Pretty sure Los Angeles is west of the Mississippi River. It literally took me 30 seconds on wiki to find that. Looks like they’ve also played at Houston and at Rice.

Like I said, no one here ever accused him of being all that bright.

A simple Google search stumped him.

(We’ve also played UCLA in LA, Texas in Austin and Tulsa at Tulsa back in the day.)

Until recently Georgia’s OOC schedule was embarrassingly weak

These group of 5 teams have to be flexible if they want to work up the food chain. USF is the anti-UCF in every way. They also are playing Alabama at Raymond James stadium. Don't invite the big boys into your 44,000 house and think you can dictate terms. They are fortunate to have a bowl stadium in Orlando at their disposal and be happy even then you get a 2 for 1 home series.

They have an AD who likes to slap big talk banners on his stadium for branding purposes but fears the actual earning process. The only vision that Mike White has is the one Barnum had when he got his show on the road. So far, not many bites on that hook.
