Just wanted to share with you guys that my son, London, who is 13..plays football for Brown School in Pleasant Hill, TN near Crossville. Their season just ended, and I'm extremely proud to report that London scored 27 touchdowns for the team this season, one shy of the school record. He plays offense, defense and returns kicks.

God only knows where he got the talent, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't from me. His mom was a basketball player thru elementary school & into high school before tearing her ACL. Before that, she was said to have had a good shot at the UT womens team. This was in the late 80's. I'm pretty sure he gets it from her, but either way...:rock::rock:

I'd say it's about 50/50. 50% raw talent and 50% heart.

Thanks guys; he will start high school next year, and the coach there has told him he expects he will have a great shot at starting with the full varsity team as a freshman. I'm excited for him...thanks for the comments!

Congratulations on the success of your son. I know I would be beaming right now.

Heck, I am proud that my 3 yr old is the best swimmer in his class.

congrats man...maybe we'll see him in the checkerboards one day

wouldn't that be sweet! right now, he's at that age where the world is his oyster, and he couldn't conceive of such a thing as not going far in sports or injury, etc. I hope the cards fall the right way for him. I keep reminding him that the competition only gets tougher at the next level, so he needs to prepare and not rely on past glory. :crossfingers:
