Florida is the #1 team in the nation. Anyone who expected a win going in isn't very realistic. We gave them a good ballgame and didn't roll over and allow them to blow us out. Sure there were offensive issues galore, but many of those came from UF's defense. The way we played today is good enough to beat many NCAA tournament teams. Go Vols, keep your heads held high!

See that's not the problem with people on here. We have a third year coach that had owned Florida the last two seasons and with the talent we have this year, fans are complacent enough that losing to Florida all of the sudden is acceptable.

Tough loss against a good team.

However, no reason we shouldn't have won. Yes, Florida is very good defensively, but there's no excuse for going 9 mins without a fg.

IMO, not going to stokes late and instead relying on McCrae and Richardon on the perimeter hurt us.

Perimeter-wise...we're a poor team at times...especially against strong competition.

Hopefully our big win comes in the dance. We might not beat UF but there are plenty of top seeds we would beat

Sugar coating a loss is for losers. Period.

You idiots astound me.

We just played the number one team in the nation and lost by 7. Not only that, but we hit two 3s all game. Nobody is sugar coating it, it sucks to lose but, we just proved we can beat anybody in the nation.

Yet you sit here and act like we shouldn't even make the drive to the tourney.

Complacent with losing. CCM owned Florida coming into this year and now because of their ranking with our third year coach, we make excuses.

Why is recognizing good effort a "moral victory?"

Why is it a bad thing?

Do you guys really think that self-evaluation equates to ineptitude?

Basketball seems to be in a similar state of football… we don't want to feel good when we lose. We want to win.

Can't win them all, that is for sure.

It's the best Florida team since they had Noah and Brewer. This isn't the team we were beating the past two years.

Game turned on a poor call by refs Compounded by Maymons reaction. Having been a ref you need to swallow the whistle on that T. The kids walking away, emotions are high, you just ignore it and play on. Maybe warn him to watch his mouth AFTER he cools off. Vols gave great effort. They could have won but hand it to Gators they played lockdown D down the stretch

Well we weren't beating them with the talent we have this year either. We didn't give Dooley an excuse for losing to #1 Bama in his third year, why are we doing for Martin in his 3rd year

This team has started to play with passion every game. Unfortunately, the last two games have displayed our offensive limitations. It is either feast or famine with our shooting.

Just because you lose, it doesn't mean you can't observe the things you did well. In fact, if you didn't do that, you are less likely to learn your strengths in order to apply them in the future.

Acknowledging those things IN NO WAY equates to being happy with a loss.

Good post, but the immature people on here don't give credit to a great effort because it was a loss.

By losing? How did we prove we could beat anybody in the nation? We are 3-11 in games decided by less than 10 points. We proved we cannot win close games.
