Pruitt out at UGA (rumor)

Now Richt has tweeted out that JP is the DC and in the office preparing for KY. Lots of smoke though.

Maybe Pruitt got hacked.

It would be foolish for UGA to fire Pruitt 48 hours before the UK game... unless, of course, they want the team to be totally distracted and drop a game they need desperately to win.

Well, if UGA implodes it looks like UT and, unfortunately, UF will be the beneficiaries. We get Derrick Brown and Mecole Hardman (and maybe Kyle Davis), but UF probably gets Eason.

We are good at QB, doesn't make much difference to me if Eason ends up at UF or GA, have to play him either way.

Unless Pruitt did something illegal or unethical, there is absolutely no sense in firing him with four games left.

Their defense isn't elite, but they're certainly better off than the offense. Why fire Pruitt but not Schotty?

@MarkRicht: Just so everyone knows, Jeremy Pruitt is our defensive coordinator and is in the office working diligently getting ready for Kentucky!

How often can Richt blame his staff?

You realize Richt has been fiercely loyal to staff in the past and has been forces to make changes before? Jancek and Martinez he kept too long and didn't want to fire. Same with previous OC before Bobo

I never caught wind of him having any problems while he was at Bama.

I hope they fire him.

I'd love to have him back as Bama's DBs coach.

Well working for Saban I am sure is a diff environment. I think there is much less patience for that stuff. He has a bad reputation here in GA though. (Ignore screen name as I live in ATL now)

You're not the first person who's said that. USA Today even has a piece up today saying there is a ton of acrimony between Richt and Pruitt. Maybe some guys just don't mesh.

Either way, if the powers-that-be in Athens think Pruitt's defense is the source of what ails UGA, then they aren't paying attention.

I'm just north of Athens, and I hear that same stuff all the time. Friction between him and CMR.
