For those too lazy to roam through posts here are updats on the 2:

Smith-Kicked off of the team.

Johnson-Suspended first four games, has to move back into dorm, must return his car to his home, and must complete 50 hours of community service. Fulmer says his reinstatment to the team will depend on his attitude and demonstation of accountability.

Disproportionate relative to the crimes, in my opinion.

Ought to be the reverse.

I do not even believe that Johnson was actually punished. He was never going to see the field during those first 4 games, unless he had a role on special teams. Must be nice to have a younger brother that is in the process of being recruited.

Johnson isn't back on the team(his trial will determine part of that) and this is his first offense. You don't have any facts LG and you want to throw the kid off the team. You have word against word. I can't believe that you think he should be gone without even being on trial. It's nice to see that we live in the great country of the United State of America where you are guilty until proven innocent.

Smith got 2 strikes before his first game(sleeping with Vice Principal/grades and DUI).

Innocent until proven guilty applies to the suspect and the government. It does not apply to the suspect and his employers. An employer, or coach, reserves the right to fire an employee for any reason (at least in TN it is so.)

It really doesn't matter. Fulmer will take hell either way because fans(or at least part of this fanbase) are impossible to please. If Johnson was cut off, and then the charges were dropped, the fans would be livid at Fulmer and saying that he's an idiot and cost us the chance at Johnson's brother and how he can't recruit and that Johnson could've been a stud. If he keeps him, then the fans will be saying that he doesn't discipline(which is a stupid thing to think with all the players he has kicked off).

As therealut put it, that standard is not applicable to this situation.

Had not realized he has a brother who is highly recruited. Someone on here claims that to be the case. If so, then I guess that might explain a lot.

Danke. I looked around Scout for a few minutes but couldn't find a guy named Johnson from Smyrna. This would explain why.

I'll check that out. I just started reading there again a few days ago in advance of the high school football season.

You're too late.

The same scenario has already happened before.

Remember Nilo Silvan??

Remember how many times young Colquitt has been arrested?

Colguitt's still on the team.

I like how people are giving insight into Fulmer's intentions when they don't know the man. While some people are loud about his shortcomings, can anyone truly and honestly say he's a bad person?

I know Britton has been arrested a few times, but I'm not sure if more than one has been since he was on the team. I think he was arrested during his grayshirt year, but he wasn't on the team.

He saw more practices than Lee.

He was arrested several times for alcohol related instances.

He was on the team when he "didn't show up" for the O&W game.

He had a leg injury at that time, his leg was aching or something. I'm not sure if Lee was kicked off as much for the alcohol as the sleeping with his Vice Principal for good grades stuff.

I didn't know Lee had already been charged with sleeping with his teacher.

I don't know if he had, but it wasn't looking good for him and then add on the DUI(which I've heard different stories about).

I have to agree with gator's first post. I know Fulmer wants to play crimedog this year (a little late), but how can you kick off a kid for DUI, and then suspend another kid for pulling a gun (although fake) on a cop (even if he is TWRA)?

Storm, do I really have to explain this again?

For one, it is in question that he even pulled the gun. That will be figured out in trial

For two, Smith's DUI wasn't your usual DUI. He was pulled over for driving on the sidewalk of Johnny Majors and Pat Summitt. He then failed 4 sobriety tests and wouldn't take a breathalizer. There was also talk that he put the car in park and then when the cop walked up to him, he pulled away and ran into another car. This also wasn't his only offense in the last couple weeks.

Gee, what difference can we find between Nilo Silvan and Dustin Colquitt?
