Came on the shuffle tonight. Saw them at Vic and Bills on the Strip (just after it was The Place).

Honda's, Toyota's, Izu-zaru's

Wow! Haven't listened to them in years. Liked them a lot when I was in middle school. They are one of those groups I used to love back in my skate boarding days. Never replaced the cassettes with CDs though.

IIRC they did cool cover of CCRs Fortunate Son.

Funny, I broke out some Bad Religion last night. It was just a good feeling, it'd probably been 3-4 years.

The good stuff doesn't get old.

First Jerks song I heard:

This one has a badass bass riff:

And then Fugazi for fun (and obviously, because Fugazi is the titz):

Yep, I have. The voice sounds like ac\dc (lite).

That's still a musically uneducated opinion. That's a style of vocals in punk, whereas Bon Scott and Brian Johnson fronted the band because they sound like belligerent sh!te.

Punk bands were singing like that before Angus Young even faked a seizure on stage.

Never did like the Circle Jerks. Now the Ramones, and the Sex Pistols and The Clash on the other hand.

The vocal style is decades older than punk. Go read about it and post some more.

I'm not trying to start a pissing contest, but I smelled wikipedia on this post.

It's odd that you listed those same three bands in the same, exact order as wikipedia.

The real origins of punk come from the garage rock (Sonics, early Kinks) and 60's rock (MC5, Patty Smith). It was also influenced by the Ska/Rock Steady sound from Jamaica (and later on, Cuba).

Listen to those three sounds, and then you'll see where the vocals come from.
