As some of you might know my family are DIEHARD Purdue fans and several including my parents have hoops and football season tickets. Some how I came out bleeding ORANGE...my family calls me the Orange Sheep..lol.....Me and my dad was talking last night how it's kinda strange the out of conference bond the two schools share the past few years. I'll give some examples....If for nothing else it makes for some VERY fun times in our family!

Hoops:

2017: Vols win 78-75 in OT at the Paradise Islands tourney
2019: Purdue wins 99-94 in OT in the infamous NCAA Tourney games (Still hate Ryan Cline)

Football:

2017: Jeff Brohm all but hired at UT
2021: Purdue wins Music City Bowl game 48-45 in OT

2023: Purdue ranked #1 and UT #2 currently in hoops
2023: Both teams are part of the Maui Invitational

Want to know how to know if someone went to Purdue? Don't worry, they will tell you.
They believe that they are Harvard and Alabama all rolled into one. Only group I have found that is more annoying around here is Ohio State fans, but it depends upon the day.

Notre Dame fans say hello. Now, the alumni and stuff like that are about a 3 on the annoyance scale so I can deal with them. Their "fans" who have no affiliation to the school turn it up to an 11 though.

Lurking in the weeds are the Miami fans-just waiting for their lame program to show any signs of relevancy.

While we're on the topic-have South Carolina fans not really become unbearable in the last three months? I mean it's kinda sad. At least with tOSU/ND/Miami they are or were good at some point in recent history. Remove womens basketball from the equation and the Gamecocks have basically a Vandy trophycase in the last 40 years. Even Candy is decent at baseball and at one point basketball.
