What is your objective opinion of the self-imposed punishment? I definitely think that the off campus recruiting ban is more appropriate than the monetary reduction of salaries. I'm not sure that I wouldn't be angered even more at the weasel move that Hamilton is trying to pull. Since when does just punishment for cheating include a boost to the bottom line of the athletic department financial statements? I'm not sure that such a slap in the face, albeit ballsy, punishment doesn't warrant a harsher penalty from the NCAA. The situation has sort of a similar feel to the USC football situation where Garrett believed they should have only had a couple scholarships lost. I think we all know how that turned out.

Opinions?

i thought the same thing too, considering we have so many early commits and so few spots and they shouldnt need much coddling for the next 12 months. i think its almost like a vacation from the circus for pearl to focus on the season at hand and spend more time with the team. its not bad punishment at all imo..if this is the end of it
