Is there a medical reason why this is bad? Should there be an age restriction for safety? If not I don't really see the problem.

From the same people that decided I can't use my HSA card to buy otc products. Makes sense.

If it reduces the number of unfit and immature teenagers who get pregnant then what is the problem?

it had better require the same security as Sudafed or I'll be pissed!

You can if your doctor writes you a prescription that covers all the major OTCs, no?

I think you are correct, knew it was something like that. But that was a change, it was much easier before. No prescript needed, so I keep my point.

Interesting. Where, geographically, are these places locking them up? I cannot recall a grocery store down here that I've ever been in where they weren't just sitting on the shelves.

It's HyVee grocery stores here in Iowa/Illinois. AFAIK, it's done at all of their stores. Not done at Wal-Mart, Target, Schnuck's, or any gas stations that I've seen etc... (Is not race related)

Just a little Google searching suggests there is some controversy associated with this practice, with some stores being protested that they are doing this for "moral" reasons and suspicion that the worry over theft is either made up or exaggerated.

One can only speculate the reasoning behind it, LG.

same here. I'd guess because they are prone to theft.

I went to BYU where, as all of you no doubt know, sex is against the honor code. At the supermarket closest to campus, the #1 stolen item is condoms. It's not that the people stealing them are into thievery...they can't be seen buying condoms or they'll be kicked out of school. Kind of funny.

I would like to say this surprises me but college kids will be college kids.
