Do you think CJH has a thing for Gaston Moore since he was an underdog QB himself? Think he'll keep the QB competition open? Could explain a lot with Nico playing this season.

Heupel was a scholarship QB tho. Moore joined him knowing his status wouldn’t change.

My feelings are that the QB position is open next year. Yes, it should be Nico's to lose based on what we have seen this season, but any head coach in this situation evaluates all options at the start of a season.
Moore isn’t an option…he’s emergency.

If you participate in Senior Day, does it remove your eligibility? We use it to indicate if a player like Cooper Mays is intent on returning, but a non-scholarship doing so is less conclusive.

I wasn't talking about Moore per se. If Tennessee does not have two serviceable QB's for next year, we are in trouble - in other words one injury away from a really bad year.
Great selling point. I think Merk will be as serviceable as anyone from another program looking to back up Nico.

Jacob Warren participated in Senior Day last year, but opted to return for his sixth and final year of eligibility this year.

Gaston Moore might have an interest in coaching and Heupel might eventually take him as a GA and help him get into the business. That's my best guess.

That is scary. A guy with Nico's talent could decide he doesn't want to compete elsewhere.

So you think players should not always continue to compete and grow in their position? It is generally competition that makes a person improve whether it be in football or life in general.

I think that’s how he approaches coaching in general. It’s probably why he sticks with Joe when everyone else is doesn’t believe in him.

I like Nico Suave however, did he in his short time on the field this campaign show me that he is unequivocally our next QB and Savior?? Heck No. Therefore, am hoping we have 2-3 viable QBs vying for the top job come Fall. If CJH can find them, bring' em on.
