The thing with Sean and Basillio is that they report on things in motion like they are a done deal. That means sometimes when things change it looks like they were totally wrong. However there are definitely times he was right and the earliest that I saw leak info.

I don’t take Sean as the gospel truth though. Like I said, it’s usually an indication of the direction the staff are pursuing.

Unfortunately I think we will get a depth piece and not a homerun (e.g. Becht/Robertson/Johnson) so my expectations are tempered. I hope I'm wrong but this feels like the first run at the portal where we were all hoping for the big names at WR/RB and we had to be happy with players like Amari Jefferson and Star Thomas

I find it funny that the tag in your name says “Socialism Sucks” when you’re complaining and whining about us doing the most Capitalistic thing possible. The goal is to win and make money. And if you’re fine with tippy toeing around the country and rolling over when things get tough, then enjoy being a loser because that’s what will happen if we don’t make a move. I agree that socialism sucks, that’s why I don’t care if Heupel hurts some no name fanbase in the midwests feelings to help us win. I’d rather our program not get left behind while every other team is and has been doing what it takes to win.

I think you're confusing him with Adam Sparks of Knoxville News Sentinel who appears on his show often.

Not sure, from my experience we seem to move rather slow in the portal. That or we just aren't good at closing deals.

I adjust for that in my talent grades. I still have him in the top 30.

I have Robertson as having the better 2024 (worth 63 points above the average FBS QB. Becht was at 54.) but Becht has two good years instead of just one and my model trusts that a bit more.

In terms of fit, both Becht and Robertson do well on play-action and that's obviously a big part of our run game.

Becht's accuracy grades are a good deal higher than Robertson's and his Avoid Sack rating is actually top 10 in the country (and this is consistently the most underrated QB eval stat imo. It drops Shedeur Sanders from #1 to outside the top 5). He's also top 10 in positive play rate.

Rocco was statically slightly better than Nico against a much worse slate of opponents last year. I would take him given the circumstances but don’t think we should trick ourselves into thinking he is gonna burn the woods down in the sec.

No, I am talking about Sean Sparks (sorry got it wrong before). Sparks mentioned on FB he greatly admires Basillio and his info suspiciously aligns with Basillio's often. Sometimes word for word.

Sometimes Sean reports something a little different, but I think they are in the same circle with a few insiders. There is a donor connection there that they get some info from.

Just read a little about Becht. I think he has the potential to be a good addition. Big 12 freshman of the year in 2023.
Threw for 25 tds and 8 rushing touchdowns last season. That’s a very solid season .

To be fair, ISU's OL was terrible last year. Bottom 20 in pass blocking and run blocking.
