Heard this on the radio the other day and searched for the article, thought it was pretty interesting.

Which university has produced the most starting quarterbacks (at least one game) in the nfl during the super bowl era. Some of the answers are quite surprising, while others are not.

1. USC (15)
2. Notre Dame (13)
3. Washington (12)

notables:

Florida, no gator has started more than 38 games and none have won a super bowl.

Oklahoma, has not had an alum start a game in the nfl since 1949 (Jack Jacobs)

Texas, has only produced two nfl starters (vince young, chris simms).

Texas A&M-Commerce (Div. II), has produced three nfl starters, which is more than Oklahoma and Texas combined.

Purdue, alums have started more nfl games (704) than any other program in the country. Also the only program to have four quarterbacks start over 100 games (Jim Everett, Bob Griese, Drew Brees, Len Dawson)

Washington at 12? Wow I can only come up with a couple.

Brunell, the Tuiasoppa (sp) guy, Chandler, Sixkiller (love that name, played in the longest yard), Damon Huard, Brock Huard, and the best being Warren Moon.

Wow......

I can only think...off the top of my head...5 UT qb's to start a game in the NFL.

Manning
Shuler
Bobby Scott (New Orleans????)
Pat Ryan (Jets)
Tony Robinson (Redskins as a scab......)

Does that sound correct? Pretty sad group minus Manning! Ryan was a good back-up though...........

I actually think Tee Martin may have started 1 game for the Raiders.

1 real QB in school history at the next level......Sad.

apparently not. Tony Robinson also played in the NFL for Washington on the strike team but I guess that doesnt count either.

Nevermind, I spoke before looking that one up. He came in after the starter was hurt. So he truely never started a game either. He did however, lead the skins to a win over the Cowboys.

walt said ainge will be starting soon. As soon as all the NFL know-it-alls get their collective heads removed from their collective arses, our list will be one longer.
