I've heard a couple of time that Fran was fired from Tx. A&M for selling inside info. to boosters. What school were these people associated with, and what kind of info. did he sell?
From what I understand he was releasing "inside" information in a private newsletter that was sent to large TAM boosters.
These were the A&M High Roller money boosters. Actually the amount of money for the newsletter was trivial and only covered the expenses. The info given was confidential stuff that coaches know, like what they really thought of a player and how serious his injury might have been (which probably violated HIPPA). It makes some people feel important to feel like they are in the inner circles. Had Fran been sucessful on the field none of this would have ever came out.I've heard a couple of time that Fran was fired from Tx. A&M for selling inside info. to boosters. Any school dumb and desperate enough to hire scum like Franchione gets exactly what they deserve. These were the A&M High Roller money boosters. I still think Fran is an excellant coach and will resurface somewhere.
(Sorry for the redundant post)
That pretty much sums it up. While he claimed that all income was used to keep website running, the fact that he didn't report income was grounds for dismissal from his contract. Fact was he resigned, he was not fired, although he might have been given the option to do so first.
