I got a few friends that are die hard Kentucky fans and I keep hearing that Kanter is the difference if this team is something special or average. But I also heard Coach Calipari say that Kanter aint nowhere near the level that Patterson or Cousins is/was. So what's the big deal with Kanters elgibility? I understand he's a high ranked player that would see significant minutes but does he make or break this team?

Yes, he does. Cal always downplays his team and talent to the media. Kanter is a polished player, and a lottery pick. Without him, UK's post threat is Josh Harrellson and Eloy Vargas. Let that sink in for a moment and see if it strikes fear into you....

Not happening right?

Vargas is very raw. Harrellson is greatly improved but is just capped talent-wise.

I think more than anything they just need an inside presence and Kanter is solid there. I think he gets a little over-hyped but he's good and will play at the next level.
