After reading many of the posts concerning the road uniforms last week, I got to thinking. Why is it that so many people are opposed to the orange pants, but yet claim to love our color orange? That would be equivalent to Carolina not wanting to wear light blue pants, when they are famous for, and claim to love the Carolina blue. Personally, I love our shade of orange and would like to see the orange pants as long as it matched the orange on the tops, but I just do not understand why so many people are against them if they love our orange...

Just a simple question on why some people hate the thought of orange pants, but claim to love our color orange... This isn't intended to be a debate to bring back the orange pants, just wondering why some people are so against them...

I'd say it probably has alot to do with age. Probably alot of the older fans who've been following the Vols since the early 80s or earlier prefer the orange pants, while the younger fans who came in during the 90s prefer the white. Just a guess.

Yes, this is such an important debate... the color of the pants are going to change how our guys play on the field.

This reminds me of them getting the orange stripe on the jersey under the armpit... season lower than expectations, let's get rid of it!

Did any of you see the orange pants they wore in '99? Those were horrible. They may look better with white stripes, but who knows until you actually see it. We would know if it happens because word travels fast. I remember rumors going around before the '99 season started that TCHFCTUTK had made a special order of orange pants and then we saw them during homecoming. They were bad luck and I guess fans complained or something because we haven't seen them since.

I just read an article that made reference to the stripes on the pants being lighter than the #s on the jerseys. So why can't Addidas match the colors correctly?

Superstitions, man!! Sports are intwined with it. Seriously, the Irish bring back the green tees on occasion for "special" rivalries. Last few times I've seen them do it, they got pasted on the bulletin board. I wouldn't do Irish green if I was the coach.

It's a Hatvol thing. He won't call CPF by name. you'll need to ask him. Or, you can use it as a word game during beer night and figure it out. I aready gave the hint. Anytime that is used by anyone other than HAT, it is a poke at him.

Colors are not easy to match. Especially an orange like that.

That's why you don't see the pants in orange much. If you do, they'd have to be with stripes. The solid one's were offshade and horrid.

You'll have to get the exact wording from Hatvol, but here's what I have: The Current Head Football Coach at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I've seen other people on this forum also use TCHFCATUTK. I guess A is for at.....who knows?
