Question about the coaching search

Since the university had a general idea that they could have fired Pearl, were they actually able to talk to coaches during this season? I want to say that we have our guy and all this media is smokescreen.

If coaches are still playing, why would we want to jump the gun and just hire the first guy who jumps at the job?? That's why businesses have crappy employees, or at least the one's who don't value the interview and background checking process.

you only talk to coaches by asking permission from their school. you can feel out their agents to see if they might be interested but no discussion with coach without asking. then it would be public knowledge so no, without firing Pearl first, they would not speak directly to a coach.
