First post here. LSU Tiger in the house. What's up with Tennesee's #13 ranking ? You guys took it to GA, who everyone had penciled in the for the National Championship and look what it got you. At a minimum TN should be ranked ahead of Michigan and Purdue and I personally believe ahead of TX and Cally. Any idea why "the man" is keeping you guys down ?

Looks like the Vols' have a good chance to win out. Might get a rematch with Aubby.

Welcome to Volnation!
They have no love for UT. I agree though, beating #3 should mean something. Auburn looks great, hope to meet them again.

'Sup HT? How bout dem Tigers? I always sit in the LSU section during the SEC baseball tourney. You guys have great BB fans...game smart, fun, funny!!

In regards to the ranking, we're pretty young so its probably best if we stay under the radar for a few more weeks...JMO.

I MISS WALLY PONTIFF!!!!

Speaking of LSU baseball, there's a kid I know of from a school in the next town over who, I think, got a 98% ride through LSU. Look for somebody drafted from either from Westview High School or Southridge High School in Beaverton, OR.

Milo, if that kid is getting a 98% ride to play baseball he must be something special. LSU has a great program and turns away hundreds of walk-ons every year. Go watch that kid play. I hope UT would get a little more serious with its progra.

Seems like I read that you are in HS? What colleges are you looking at?

I'm in the same high school, having the pleasure of having football under the same program that produced the guy you all call your quarterback. Anywho, Lookin' to get my core classes out of the way in junior college for two years, then enter a bigger uni. Looking at Oregon, Standford or maybe Gonzaga. Something not too far away.

But, I'm only a junior right now, I'm not too worried about it just yet.

Thanks for the kind reception. BTW, we all miss Wally Pontiff, #31 forever. Tough to think about baseball in the middle of football season and basketball just getting under way.

I haven't seen Bama play this year yet but it looks like they are making it w/o Croyle and the RB. Before the 2000 win, we hadn't beat them in Tiger Stadium since 1969. Interestingly, its the one time that I know of where instant reply was used in an SEC game. The was a very questionable call at LSU's goalline. Alabama lined up on our 6 as if it was there ball, however, the Jumbotron screen repeatedly showed the replay and clearly it was LSU's ball. LSU players were pointing at the screen (see below) The crowd was going crazy and you could see the officials looking at the screen. They called time before Bama could run a play. Ultimately, they gave LSU the ball but the officials (yeah right !) denied look at the screen. Surely, your Bama game is going to be televised. I'll watch it while we tailgate before the Troy game.

ESPN has a orange on for downing the Vols....they have teams they love that can look like crap and they get praise....the teams they dont like can slam someone and they might comment they stole one. Trailer park trash is what they call the Tennessee Volunteers and fans. Someone posted that theyve never seen a coach get less credit for wins than coach fulmer, quite true...and will remain so as long as hes at Knoxville. :furious3: Take teams like FSU, USC, MIAMI, OKLAHOMA( ESPN favorites)....you put them in the SEC and theyll post 8-3, 9-2 seasons too...strength of schedule omission will hurt the SEC far worse than any other conference because of the overall skill level of the conference, we still will have the teams on our schedule with no reward for it.

Shoot, I'll take our ranking for now. It seems like in the past 3 years, everytime we get in the top 10 we soon lose - 2002 versus Florida, 2003 v Georgia and then in the bowl game, this year v Auburn.

Anyway, I like us as the overlooked underdog. Much success in that position over the past 3-4 years as well.

The ranking will work itself out. If we win out, we'll be in the top ten. If not, we will probably end up right about where we are now.

On good note, we are #9 in the BCS, ahead of UGA.

With Nebrasska losing 70-10 week before last at least that shut Trev up a bit. Now that you guys beat GA, he's off of UGA's bandwagon and now thinks Aubby has the best defense in the SEC. Point being, that guy really does flap in the wind. He sure has said some stupid things. I rarely watch ESPN, in fact, the only way I will is if my son cons me into it.

I'm not simply stating this because of last year, but any team out of the SEC that makes it to the NC game and wins is one hell of a team because of the competition all the teams face in league play. There simply aren't many gimme games in the SEC.

Looking forward to playing you guys next year. LSU has a young team and should return 9 starters on offense, 9 1/2 if you consider our quarterback situation. It will be a good game. I WILL be there.

The SEC is the best, ESPN is the worst and LSU vs. UT sounds like a fun Saturday!

All the LSU pics are going to make me puke! :D
