I was on UT’s ticket site last night and I read this
“ Customers assume all risks for tickets purchased through a source other than the University of Tennessee Athletic Ticket Office or trusted partner Vivid Seats , the Exclusive Resale Ticket Marketplace of the Vols”. So I went to Vivid seats and bought two digital tickets in the lower north endzone. What are y’alls experience with buying digital tickets for Tennessee games? And does what I read from UT’s site mean that my tickets legitimacy I guaranteed by the university? I guess I’m just paranoid any information would be much appreciated.

The digital tickets are what I usually use these days. It's just a code they scan at the door same as a paper ticket.

I would assume that since you went through the official secondary market you won't have any issues. I also would guess there's anti-counterfeiting measures taken on an "official" secondary market.

Good to know thanks for the response. I figured this would be easier than trusting the mail to arrive on time given that I’m driving from Dallas days before kickoff. Just paranoid about somehow getting scammed. Feel pretty good about it

I used Vivid over the weekend for first time. Had small issue getting email validation to validate account/download tickets (never got the email to validate). Customer service was non-existent. I got it taken care of but I spent 20-30 mins on something I should have never spent time on. To be fair to Vivid, they did give me a site credit for the issue since it was on their end.

Nothing to worry about re: Vivid but I do recommend not waiting until Saturday afternoon to download tickets to your phone if you are first time customer.

When your customer service worse than Ticketmaster.....

Digital SHI-!! When it comes to tickets I want good old paper/light cardboard tickets in my hand when I approach the gate. If they come from UT or a known friend I would trust them. Tickets, money, most anything floating around in the air or in some computer means nothing, just that you trust someone or something you can't see or handle.

I have similar thoughts. But things screw up in the mail all the time and UT already has a limited supply of tickets left. Being in Texas it’s hard to make everything work to get the actual physical tickets. I could deal with scalpers but I don’t want to find myself in a situation where I’m at their mercy

I’m able to sell my tickets 3-4 times for each game. I guess whoever gets to the stadium first gets the seat, so I’d make sure to get there as early as you can.

just kidding…I’ve sold and bought through this platform many times and have never had an issue. You should feel good about it.

The answer to your last question is, yes. UT partners with Vivid Seats and works with them, so the university is backing the legitimacy of any ticket you buy through them. Of course, keep in mind that's only a little extra security because any of the major resellers (even those not endorsed by UT) provide a 100% guarantee. With any of them, including Vivid Seats, the guarantee only means you get your money back...that doesn't do you much good when you're standing outside Gate 21 and the ticket-taker denies you entry.

With that said, I use Vivid Seats all the time. It's the only reseller website I use because their fees are cheaper than the others. Digital tickets are the future (and the future is now). For the most part, you don't get paper tickets even when you go through the UT Ticket Office anymore. You get mobile tickets that are scanned on your phone as you enter the stadium. I kinda prefer the old way because you can hang on to the tickets as souvenirs if you want, but the convenience of digital tickets is pretty amazing.

I agree I love keeping things from games. They’ve brought the programs back at least

People with season tickets can post their unused tickets on VividSeats with the click of a few buttons. As in its a built in feature from the site that manages season tickets.

^^^^^^ This. Be careful with Vivid or any online ticket sales. Just the age we’re in but most venues are going away from hard copy tickets and going to digital only. You order your tickets from the third party site but the crucial part is that the email from the vendor is time critical (my experience) and you have to input your Vivid (or other vendor) username and password when you actually transact to take possession of the tickets from the actual seller’s site/link that you’re directed to. Took multiple emails and phone calls to get them to reset the process. Tix finally came through on the third try. It’s not seamless and the customer service sucks. No one will answer your call nor return it when you leave a voicemail.
