Hat, with UCONN admitting to major violations, do you think this could have any effect on what the AA may do to us. Would it have any kind of effect, good or bad for us?

We will most likely get similar punishments, if I had to guess. Probably not a good thing for us.

There really aren't any similarities between the key issues in the two cases. UCONN's in hot water for their assistants relationship with an agent who was pimping Nate Miles and Calhoun's apparent willful blindness thereof. UT's troubles stem from the head coach lying to the 'AA about intentionally breaking a rule he had been found to have violated previously.

Given where they are right now, I think UCONN's making a mistake by not taking themselves out of postseason play this year. If they did that, this would all be over.

That would have been reasonable. Take the lumps now instead of playing the whole deal out.

There's no guarantee they'll make the 'AAs this year. If they wake up the day after Selection Sunday with an NIT bid, they're going to regret their decision.

Agreed. I don't think these cases are similar enough to make a stable comparison.

This is a good point.

This next question is for everyone, as well. Is there a similar precedent that could hint at possible sanctions for Tennessee above those already self-imposed?
