Did (or have) any of these guys mentioned Ron Paul's record fundraising yesterday on their shows today?

I wasn't able to hear all of Rush today, but it seems like all of the so-called conservative talk shows are going out of their way to ignore this story. From the bits and pieces I did hear today, Rush was babbling about some girl in Alaska crying about global warming. Neil Boortz was talking about some lecture he gave in Athens last night.

if these are the 2 things that these guys have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for in order to avoid talking about Ron Paul, then they are as phony as a $3 bill. It's almost comical... rush having to go all the way to Alaska to avoid Ron Paul.

why do they need to talk about Ron Paul? Sure, he raised 3.5 million in one day, but as Barak Obama has discovered, there's more to winning the nomination than just being a good fundraiser. When Paul's Pat Buchanan-esque libertarianism polls better than 3 or 4% he might get some more attention.

Boortz talks about Ron Paul today and reflects on an 11 minute call to his show yesterday by a Ron Paul supporter.

boortz.com: Nealz Nuze Today's Nuze

I have already signed up to receive Ron Paul campaign material via email. I'll spend time going over his positions, especially in areas where we disagree. If I come to the conclusion that Ron Paul in the White House would not weaken our country or our economy ... and if he is willing to give a fair and rational consideration of the FairTax ... then I'll be much more disposed to support him.

Actually, I would expect Neal Boortz to be inclined to give Ron Paul a serious look. Boortz is about as libertarian as anybody on the radio.

I don't know. I saw Hannity do a whole show on why Leatherface Mullet man said the "N" word. I turned the channel as fast as humanly possible. How do some of these "journalists" live with themselves.

Talk about the dumbing down of America. Not stereotyping all listeners or viewers but there is something inherently lazy about those who are spoonfed info from pundits and stop there and take it for gospel truth. Go the extra mile and verify anything you hear. Most crap from these pundits on the extremes is more sensational journalism and/or garbage only to boost ratings and thus wallet size.

Nice post, Dizzy. I listen to the conservative radio, and generally enjoy it, as the Secular-Progressive people piss me off. But everyone has an agenda, be it good or bad. But they aren't reporters, they are commentators. The truth lies beyond the idiot box and the radio, problem being too many people are too lazy to look for it.

Yep. Good example is my membership in my county GOP. The chair is a little under this category. He forwards these emails about so-in-so is trying to stop such-in-such with some new law. Just a simple check at Snopes disproves it but yet a county party leader is emailing it to 100 people and telling them to forward it without checking?

I like to listen to Mike Savage, he's good for a laugh. He's a hateful human who looks down on those he consider's not as good as him, but it's a good chuckle in between the occasional square point.

Well if Paul wants to be compared to the former record holder Howard Dean then let's talk about it. Does he and his supporters want to be compared with a nut who broke a day record and turned out to be a complete failure and the butt of many a joke? Big deal. He raised a lot of money in one day.

American Thinker: The Ron Paul Campaign and its Neo-Nazi Supporters

Holocaust deniers, anti-semites, 9-11 troofers have all jumped on the Ron Paul bandwagon.

It's a lengthy article, and concludes with this paragraph.

Paul supporters complain endlessly that the "mainstream media" is censoring or ignoring their candidate. They should be careful what they ask for. If Paul wants to be taken seriously, he must stop cowering behind the internet and face these questions. Until then it is only reasonable to presume that Paul is happy to wallow in well-financed obscurity accepting the support of some of the worst enemies of freedom and liberty within American society.

I was just thinking the other day, it's really weird the way the kooks seem to be gravitating toward Ron Paul.

Paul can't control who supports him anymore than Bush or any other candidate can. I'm sure Bush had Confederacy sympathizers and Kennedy had mafia supporters voting for them... All a candidate can do is articulate a message. You are going to have a certain fringe element of society supporting any mainstream candidate. Hillary has her commie supporters and I'm sure Fred Thompson has a few Klan members that are giving him money/support.

The guilt by association game doesn't fly in this case... unless he is actively campaigning for the neo-Nazi vote.

actually, if you read that article, it appears as though the Klan (through the auspices of David Duke) has thrown it's support behind Ron Paul.

and what you don't seem to want to admit is this, Ron Paul's campaign is based on fringe support. So I have no doubt he is actively courting fringe groups. It wasn't the Boy Scouts or AmericanEagle.org that helped him raise 4 million in one day.

I mentioned this briefly to OE in a private message. There are some SCV groups and others here in GA who have some sympathetic views to the Confederacy for a lack of better comparison who are actively behind Paul. I have seen no evidence that Paul has been of this persuasion or has ever voiced an opinion in this area but it is very odd how many who lean Confederacy, Klan, etc. have all lined up behind Paul. It looks really suspicious that such support is all a coincidence.

All of the UFO crowd backed Kucinich before and we now know he shares their views. Will the same come of Paul?
