Question for the Fans......Especially HATVOL

Scenario:

Tennessee wins only 2 more games, home games to Bama and Miss. St. and lose there final 3 games plus first round of SEC tourney. Who believes this team is going to get in. Also, if this plays out, this would put UT at 9-11 over its last 20 games, even more reason to BELIEVE (I SAID BELIEVE) they are NIT bound. Agree or Disagree that this team will make the tourney at 18-13.

Agreed, at least one guys. I want them to make it to the tourney as much as the next, but they need one more road game to seal a NCAA bid.

I like our chances with both of those games - but I wouldn't expect to win both. Downey has a way of coming up big for such a small guy... we seem to match up well with USCjr and UF though... probably because of their lack of inside presence.

Put simply, we're just more athletic than Florida, which is why we match up a lot better with them than with other teams. But Florida will be fighting for their NCAA lives in this game. Should be a good one.

Exactly. On Selection Sunday, there will be 5-10 teams that get into the field with flimsier resumes than Tennessee.

I don't know, I'll be sweating at 18-13. Remember the committee puts a lot of stock on how you finish, and if we end up 18-13 that means a pretty sorry finish.

I also think if we get blown out in the 3 road games like I think we have a decent chance of, and do our regular lay an egg in the SECT, would definitely play a factor.

I don't think for a second we're a shoe-in.

Here's my take on it.

A loss in this game, and we need to win our remaining games to get halfway decent seeding. 3-1, and we're in. 2-2 and below is cause for concern.

We will get 1 road win in the mix, and win 1 tourney game. That will get us in.

As bad as the season as looked, SOS, and RPI will put us over the top.

We could have played 2 or 3 cake games(if there is such for this team), instead of Marquette, Memphis, etc...

I think we need to win 1 big road game. The selection committee always looks at road wins. A win today plus a sweep at home gets us in.
