Did the team sprint between quarters?

I'm not trying be a smart a$$. I'm just curious what the attitude was between the 1st & 2nd quarters and the 3rd & 4th.

It's pretty easy to be pumped up when you're winning.

I'd like to know too. I'd like to see the same attitude winning or losing

Guess nobody else does :)

The team was upbeat as they had the lead in the first quarter. It seem as Worley missed his receivers the offense went into conservative mode. As the defense suffered a couple of injuries downhill from there.

for the size, was very loud. not as loud as LSU, Florida, Auburn, Bama or Carolina. not Neyland either back when we were good

The Oregon students aren't back in classes until the end of the month, so the student section wasn't very full, I think they made it smaller and sold the tickets to Tenn.

I was on about the 10 yard line a few rows up behind the Tennessee bench. I was so far away from the Tennessee section that do not know if we did the SEC chant. Here are a few observations I made:

1) Oregon fans were very gracious to me and my son before and during the game. Easy to do, I know, when you are winning, but I think it was sincere. They even gave us a fist bump when we scored first.

2) There were many, many enormous holes created by our O-line. It became funny how upset the Oregon fans were getting about the holes. The problem was that we were not hitting the holes and their defense collapsed fairly quickly when we did. I was honestly shocked at how well our O-line did for the run game, but unfortunately we could not take advantage of it.

3) I made sure to watch the guys at the end of the 3rd quarter and they did run to the other end of the field.

4) On the sideline the guys definitely acted like a team. They all as a group followed the flow of play as it moved down the field and cheered for each other. Maybe they have always done this, but somehow they just seemed closer as a group than they have in the past, imo.

5) The coaches absolutely lit into Christian Harris after one of the touchdowns scored by Oregon's freshman tight end.

6) The Oregon wide receivers do an extremely good job of blocking down the sideline. Having said that, I also think they hold a lot and don't get called for it. I saw Butch getting after the officials many times for this very thing.

7) Games always seem worse to me when I'm watching at home than when I'm there in person...don't know why. As a spectator the most glaring deficiency was the ability of our LBs and DBs to read plays. There were so many busted coverages.

8) I feel bad for Worley. I think he tries hard and has always given his best. It seemed like he did a good job at the line of scrimmage managing the calls despite the noise. It also seems like he normally knows where to go with the ball. The poor guy just can't execute, though. Despite the noise, it seemed to us like Oregon had more false starts and delays of game on offense than we did. That says a lot about our o-line, quarterback, and coaching.

9) Autzen was loud, especially for the small capacity. It only seats like 59k. For such a small crowd it was very loud near the field. A lot of people cover their ears or have headphones for their kids.

10) I think that we are on the right track. The guys need some time in this system and we need more talent, especially speed.

I sat in section 5 which was the Tennessee section. It was beside the Oregon student section. My observations:

1) Very very Nice Stadium with a waterfall, incredible landscaping etc... Not nearly as loud as any of the big SEC stadiums at only 57,000.

2) Oregon Cheerleaders: possibly the hottest group of cheerleaders around and they don't do many of the rah rah or go team cheers. They are somewhere between a strip club performance and a Miley Cyrus video.

3) During the second half during a timeout the whole stadium joins in a rendition of the song "Shout". They also show clips of the movie Animal House as they are singing along with the song. Some around me thought it was a little cheesy but it was impressive seeing the whole stadium get into it and raise there hands yelling shout.

4) Oregon fans were very nice and hospitable. Of course when you know the other team is not a threat and the game goes as planned, why wouldn't they be. There was never a doubt in their minds.

5) They chanted SEC a couple of times and "We want Bama" 5 or 6 times

6) We are slow

7) We still get way out of position on defense like we did last year. I only bring this obvious point up because I'm not sure you can appreciate how open their receivers were on some plays. You would need a very wide angle camera lens to pick up our nearest defender.

8) If we had Bama's or Georgia"s running backs, they would have rushed for double or triple the yards that we did. There were huge holes created by our oline that only produced modest gains. It is what it is I guess....

9) Team sprinted after the 3rd quarter to the other end. Oregon just walked with a swagger to their sideline. I didn't notice after the 1st quarter because of number 2 in this list.

10) Although their fans were great, some genius allowed a promotion where a local bread company gave away small loaves of bread. Several were thrown from the student section toward us and some were thrown on the field. I blame that more on whoever allowed these to be given away in the student section.

11) Glad I went for the experience but watching the worst loss since 1910 wasn't easy.

The team's energy was great. Myself and several other Vol fans were at the tunnel entrance during pregame warm-ups and the players were very pumped-up and animated, interacting with us -- giving us high-fives. I lost track of all the players who I high-fived. I remember Marlin Lane and Alden Hill did when the RBs came out. Cam Sutton when the DBs came out. A.J. and Dontavis in the LB group. Dontavis was so hyped that it actually hurt when he slapped my hand. But it was awesome. They seemed ready to compete and yes, they still sprinted between the 3rd and 4th quarters.

I also got to shake hands with Condredge Holloway, which was really awesome. Saw Erik Ainge outside the stadium and talked to him briefly. Overall, just a great atmosphere for a beleaguered life-long Vol stranded in Pac 12 country.

The Autzen crowd was very polite and even welcoming. Several of them welcomed me to Oregon (I thanked them and did not tell them that I have lived in Oregon for 17 years). As expected, there were a few drunk idiots -- but even they were pretty tame. Also as expected, Autzen is not nearly as loud as the bigger SEC stadiums. They do this "Ooooohhh" cheer that is loud, but they have their moments where they are pretty quiet, too. Like in the first quarter after we scored that first TD and we were leading.

But I found the atmosphere to be very cool and I liked the "Shout!" feature and the kissing cam and the overall mood of their fan base.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the UT fans that traveled to the game. Class bunch of people, and by far the best turnout by an opposing team I have witnessed in my 20 years as a Duck season ticket holder.

Couple things, just for reference..... The "Shout" song that is done in the stadium may seem cheesy, but it is rooted in history. Animal House was filmed at the University of Oregon with the frat scenes taking place in the old Sigma Nu house, and the food fight scene taking place in the EMU "fish bowl". So the song has a bit of a history with the Alumni.

Cheeleaders being hot. Thanks. Rarely does someone ever comment about women in Oregon being "hot". More often comments include....well, that's all.

Good fans- We often hear from our in state rivals what a bunch of jerks Duck fans are. It is nice to hear that for the most part you were all treated with respect and good friendly rivalry ribbing at worst. Your fans were uniformly great from my interactions.

Good luck the rest of your season.

They sprinted after the 3rd quarter but not the 1st. Defense was out there and they had just given up a big play. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.
