A poster said that Hubbs said this:

"Everyone in program very much wants a bowl game for the new coach to come in and get to know the team."

If that's the case, then it seems like the new coach will be:

- a big time coach that is currently unemployed with a team

OR

- a top assistant

Thoughts?

I think a HC --ie, Strong/Patterson-- would not coach their team in the bowl if they were coming here. However, I'm not sure they would take over officially either. Might take a hands off --around but not in control-- approach. That said, I would like for them to go ahead and jump in.

It was a statement that I had many questions about last night.

My take is that he is saying that the new coach will begin recruiting and evaluating the current roster during bowl prep. He would do that evaluating more as an observer and won't coach the game itself.

Many on here don't want a bowl game and I think that's a terrible opinion. We need the extra practice and the coach needs to evaluate talent so he can know how to plan for recruiting needs.
