i understand that, i'm just saying it seems that we've had a lot of verbal committments, more than we normally would.

clawson seems to be a very good recruiter so far, but if they don't get the season turned around, he won't be around long enough to see those boys get to campus....

I could be completely wrong but i believe Fulmer has control over who sees the field on offense and if Clawson had it his way completely he would have a different set of recievers out there.. such as Paige, Jones, Abrahms-Ward would see some pt...

I agree with you 100%.......Fulmer has some weird loyalty thing with certain players, promises to families he can't break or something.........also, Fulmer tends to play juniors and especially seniors when they suck, just bc/ they're upperclassmen, he needs to play the BEST players........like Spurrier!! (he'd be to Coleman by now)
(i.e. C.J. Fayton started as a senior over Robert Meachem who was a sophomore.......how dumb was that looking back?? Meachem was ungodly his junior year, adn then was drafted 1st round.....)

If that's not complete INSANITY, then what is???

I think your exactly right. All we've heard is how Clawson likes to get his playmakers in open space but we've yet to see it. I really think that Fulmer has his hand in who's on the field and what plays are called.

The receivers haven't been the problem. Taylor and Briscoe have played well and I doubt Paige and Ward would be doing any better. Jones is getting a lot of playing time. It doesn't really matter who's on the field if you can't get them the ball.

You will know at season's end whether Coach Clawson was allowed to totally run the offense. Heard numberous people say after Dave was hired that if he wasn't allowed to coach his way that he would leave after the season was over. If that is true then we will know how much input he actually had at the end of the season.

Rex, have you heard anything about these Nunes looking around rumors? If so, how will this affect our chances of retaining Jarvis Giles, getting Marlon Brown and others, etc.?

So far his recruiting is fine. Honestly I think they play calling is fine also. It just comes down to execution. It doesnt help when it is 3rd and 17 your quarterback thinks he is Michael Vick and tries to run. It all comes down to execution. I think it will get better as the season goes on also

Nor does it help when your senior leader negates a great run with a stupid penalty... or your FB runs into your QB... or only one guy consistently gets open...

Crompton has struggled at times but he's hardly the goat everyone is conveniently trying to make him.

crompton ran into the fullback...fulmer even said that. JC cant throw a ball straight for anything or read a defense to save his life. HE SUCKS!!!!

Glad to see someone really giving a fair assessment of the offense. 4th & goal from the 1, and we go with a pass play because our heralded line can't seem to get any sort of push. Somehow they manage to allow not 1, but 2 defenders unblocked up the middle. Crompton is running for his life with his back to the endzone and no open recievers. What should he do?

A: Take a sack and try again next play? Oops, it's 4th down. There is no next play.

B: Throw to the RB who is running an out route
1 1/2 yards shy of the endzone? That won't work.

C: Take a shot into the endzone and pray one of his "bigtime" recievers makes a play and risk getting booed for throwing an int on a play that was doomed from the snap. I like C.

He's not playing good football, but he's new. What is everyone elses excuse?
