Do you guys see him starting as a true freshman when he gets here? I also heard that Chaz Green would probably start as a true freshman next year. Do you see JJ in the same mold?

JJ is a bit more raw then Green. Green is more physically ready. JJ prolly needs a RS year, but will play as a frosh because we have no depth.

JJjr and Chaz could very well start from day 1. Both obviously need some time in the weight room but it is definately a possibility if not a certainty.

I wont go as far to say he will start, but i will say he will be giving the chance but that depends on how fast and well he adjustes to the college game....

It's tough for O-Lineman to come into this league and be successful early. That being said, Lane's system is lineman friendly and the physical part would be the only thing holding them back.

Isn't Chaz solid to Floriduh right now?

Yeah....OL have a lot to work on and overcome to even see the field as a true frosh. With our depth, Green may be in the 2 deep, though.

LT- Douglas
LG- Shaw
C- Pope, Hood, Revis
RG- Brimfield, Pope
RT- Schofield, Thomas, Cullen

So they will be

RS FR (this year) SO
SR
JR
JR
SO
with the first people listed at each position. Not bad experience wise. Are we really as thin then as it seems for OL? Some people were saying take as many as 5 or 6. I know we don't recruit just for next year of course. We have to develop them and get their bodies ready.

I'd feel better about the above if more than only Douglas and Shaw had seen significant PT. Pope, Hood, Revis, Brimfield and Thomas are really going to have to push in the spring to get ahead of the newcomers. I haven't heard good things about the work ethic or abilities of Pope, Brimfield or Thomas. Hood, Revis and Schoefield get more of a pass because they are freshman, but at best they are still inexperienced. Hopefully Schoefield lives up to the expectations Craig laid out for him during signing earlier this year.

I'd love to get a guy like Cullen to come in and start right away. And I wish we had another solid Juco o-lineman lined up for 2010.

At one time seems we wanted Curry as a juco but I guess we cooled. Also imo I don't think a juco like Cullen would be as interested if he thought he was going to be 3rd at RT.

Yes we lose 6 that graduate. Sawtelle, Myers and Johnson from spring for different reasons are no longer with the team so that is like losing 9 OL.

I can see us bringing in 6 OL easy. 4 to RS and 2 for depth. We may not RS even 4 though if some are EE and they show they can work hard.

With our offense being friendly to lineman, the 6 or 9 OL that we lose this year, then why are we not hearing about more Henderson type OLs being recruited? I am sure this staff is finding the right ones that will compliment the system rather than get stars on our class.

Do the staff think that OLs are able to be coached up if we get the right physical skill set, are we missing out on the "elite" OLs, is this position one to overlook all the rankings of players? Very pleased with J. James, but wanted some people's insight into this. Thanks.

Is it a forgone conclusion that Hood is a center? He looks like a tackle to me if he gains a little weight.

I agree with the staff finding the right ones to fit. We have verbals from 4 OL already and only 2 are 4star. Jose and Pair are rated as 3star. We are in the thick of it with at least two or three more so I think we will be fine. As for Henderson I don't think the staff was ever recruiting him that hard for some reason.
