Since we will be losing Stocker and Cottam next year and didn't get Adams, I'm wondering if either of these have the body type to get up to the 240-50# range and play tight end like a David Martin did?

lets keep em at receiver. Aarron Douglas may be moved back to tight end if offensive line gets rebuilt properly.

Aaron Douglas is not changing position back to TE, he is staying at tackle. He was freshman All-SEC and freshman All-American.

The UT coaches screwed up there, since Martin never player TE until he started playing on Sun.'s.

Do we not have another TE named Wolfe or something like that.

Douglas could be an All-American one day at T, we will be fine at TE, Milton is a WR through and through, Delvin could play TE.

im just new to this site.
Go Vols!

i think milton and delvin are two underated guys in this class, the size of milton is a big plus and i think delvin will a potential starter his sohpmore year pending a redshirt or not

Actually, they wanted Martin to play TE when he was at UT (disclaimer: I worked as a student in the AD at the time). They tried for 2-3 years to get him to gain enough weight to switch, but I always got the impression that Martin always thought of himself as a WR and did not want to switch. Funny thing is that when Martin went to the league, he was told that if he wanted to make the green, then he would have to eat a little more and work a little harder in the weight room. It was not long before he started to bulk up. Funny how $$$ can make some of these guys be a little more open minded.

Haynesworth is another prime example.

I've actually been thinking the same thing about Jones. He certainly looks the part, but I don't know if he can actually catch or block. I do know that the staff won't just ignore the position. They either have someone in mind to play tight end in the future, or they believe that they will soon sign one.

Douglas will not be returning to TE. Aside from being Freshman All-American at T, part of the reason it was suggested he move to tackle was because he couldn't keep his weight down. Move to tackle, maintain the footwork and agility of a TE, and he's on his way to a very profitable career.
