Can anyone tell me why the basketball schedules are so late being posted? I have searched most sites to find a complete 2009/10 basketball schedule and cannot.
I know that football schedules are normally finalized two years minimum in advance except of course for start times.
Why the late release with b/ball schedules?
Just wondering

They're not late. Basketball schedules are always finalized in the late summer.

Seems like the basketball schedule is released on utsports.com around late July. So I imagine it being released any day.

They tend to get later and later each year. That's television's influence. They make the matchups, then assign dates. If ESPN didn't think we were going to suck in football, there's no way they put us on New Year's Eve with Memphis in hoops.

When are the USC and Kansas games? You know when we go to the Virgin Islands?

The SC game is December 19th. Not sure of the exact date of the Kansas game. The Paradise Jam is played Thanksgiving Weekend, I believe.

It's November 20-23. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kansas game was played during conference play possibly.

I thought the Kansas date was already out. I just remember it being a Saturday in either December or January, not sure where I read that though.

ESPN announced its SEC “Super Tuesday” schedule on Monday. The all-sports network plans to release its entire SEC college basketball schedule on Thursday.

As for “Super Tuesday,” UK will play four times: at Florida on Jan. 12, at South Carolina on Jan. 26, against visiting Ole Miss on Feb. 2 and at Mississippi State on Feb. 16.

Other “Super Tuesday” matchups are Tennessee at Alabama on Jan. 19, Tennessee at Vanderbilt on Feb.9, Tennessee at Florida on Feb. 23 and Vanderbilt at Florida on March 2.

Not to mention, the UK vs. UT game at Rupp is on
Feb 13th (Saturday I think) and will be visited by the ESPN game day crew. Its not a super Tuesday, but still a game on ESPN with national spotlight for both programs.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Maze v. Wall in a nationally televised game that will be hyped all day. :ermm:

Then again, Bruce beat Cal when he had Derrick Rose and fell one basket short of a win when he had Tyreke Evans. So, who knows?

My thoughts as well. Definately possible with BP's track record against Cal and UT's experience. However, you pointed out the biggest problem with that scenario... which is Wall vs. Maze, or possibly even Bledsoe vs. Maze. No amount of experience can cover up for that . Not a good matchup.

Last year, it was Maze v. Evans. The year before that, it was Ramar/Howell v. Rose. Of course, that team also had a couple of decent shooting guards.
