When was the last time we went 2-0 against the sec west? Well we did this year and looked awesome against 2 of the best 4 teams there. Is the east better than the west this year? Gbo!

Technically 2001 if we’re just talking regular season.

1998 or 2001 depending on how you want to slice it (the loss to LSU in '01 was in the title game), but the whole notion of playing two games (permanent and rotating opponent) cross-divisionally is a byproduct of A&M and Missouri joining the conference and the Vols very obviously hadn't defeated Alabama during that stretch.

I looked this up just the other day! 2001. We beat Arkansas, LSU and Bama all three in the regular season. Sadly, we then lost to LSU in the SEC Championship game.


Note: prior to 2012, when Mizzou and A&M joined the SEC, the scheduling format was: play the other 5 teams in your division, as well as 3 teams from the other division. From 2012 on, that switched by necessity to 6 and 2.
