I admittedly don't know a whole lot about NASCAR, I know the basic stuff about drafting and stuff like that, but my question is why does the racing suck so bad compared to a decade or so ago?

Somebody posted a video of a race at Talledega a few years back and it was 3 wide the whole race and there was a ton of passing and cars diving down to the inside, swinging wide on the outside and it looked pretty awesome. Why is racing not like that anymore?

I actually watched most of the 500 last weekend, just for the sole fact Danica was in it and I was curious of how she would finished. (Don't ask me why, I guess because she's gorgeous).

I've heard it's because of new racing surfaces. Less slick asphalts compared to concrete surfaces. I know when they redid bristols surface I heard a lot of moaning about how there aren't as many wrecks.

Still believe that this is one of the best finishes for a plate race ever.

But, to answer your question, Management.

Fans complained about the two car drafts, and Nascar changed the rules to break them up and gave us this single file crap we have now.

That's because the vast majority of NASCAR fans are idiots and don't realize you can't have it both ways.

Watched a 30 for 30 on Netflix the other night about Tim Richmond......that was real racing before it went corporate.

Racing went corporate the second an owner put the name of a business or product on their car in exchange for cash to help pay the bills. I can assure that was LONG before Tim Richmond came around.

I agree but disagree. I am pertaining to the pussification of the sport for a better image. Acting corporate instead of being a bunch of good ol boys from the south.
