I've heard Buckeye fans say UT admitted to using illegal cleats in the 1996 citrus bowl. Is there any truth to this? I've never heard this.

I've just heard that, wasn't sure if it was true. It's nice knowing Ohio State has never beaten UT, even if they've only met once. Also nice knowing last time they played us in basketball, men's or women's, we've beaten them.

``It was totally unintentional and a mistake by one of our suppliers,'' Dickey said Wednesday, adding he will be sending Ohio State a letter of apology.

I laughed...

Convinced it was a mistake, Gaston added, ``I'm sure if you checked every Ohio State player you would have found some sort of illegal equipment, whether it was a trimmed tailbone protector or a player without hip pads.

``These rules are in the book, but we don't ask a player to take his pants down so we can check,'' Gaston said.

I used to do some punting in high school, and I wore soccer cleats because they don't have a cleat/peg at the very front, otherwise your foot could catch the ground during a kick. The cleats are HORRIBLE for playing other positions like TE and DE because you can't dig into the turf...you just slip (can't even imagine playing in the rain). If soccer cleats back then didn't have the front cleat, then we would've been at a disadvantage because of it, not an advantage.
