I am just wondering what you guys thought of our stadium and the atmosphere/crowd?

I've already said it, but the fans are the Best in the SEC by far, and actually the best fans I've seen in College Football.

It was nice to see how excited you guys were about Gameday. I don't mean this condescending, but it was "cute" to see how happy your fans were at the "simple" things in College Football.

The stadium is one of the best in the SEC too. I know it's small, but it is very clean and neat and the scoreboard is nice. The sound system was top notch. Loved the band marching all the way around the field before taking their seats. Parking was free and we were back on the road very easily.

One of the biggest negatives I have is the "Another Arkansas First Down". I HATE that. I really do. As a fan of a team that thankfully doesn't celebrate something as trivial as a first down, it really comes across as though you all are a second-tier team that has to create things to cheer for. Every time I have ever been to a stadium that does this, (Alabama, South Carolina, Arkansas, Miami) the opposing fans always mock the home team for doing it, and the home team fans always laugh like we are joking. IT's not a joke, we are making fun of you. Anyway, off my soapbox.

Other than that, and Tennessee kicking their ass kicked, it was a pretty good atmosphere.

*I liked the tailgating scene
*Stadium itself was pretty nice but was glad I didn't have to sit in those endzone stands at the very top (lol), looked like they were taken from a high school stadium and thrown up there
*The jumbotron was simply amazing and overwhelming, best part of the trip, haha
*Calling of the Hogs was pretty cool and was one of the things I looked forward to, as I am a college footbal fan in general as well and like to see other's traditions and chants

I guess that's it......oh yea, I would have liked to have seen heated bleachers. :wink2:

Yeah those seats in the endzone are just put up for big games. They are scary looking!

All very good points that I did not mention.:good!:

Add Ole Miss to that list as well. We were making fun of South Carolina quite often this year for that. Quite comical. Not much cheering or laughing at this game though.:boredom:

I did not make the trip this year, but was there 5 years ago and had a great experience. That jumbotron/scoreboard is really top notch.

Yeah the scoreboard is amazing. What I don't like is the way it and the buildings prevent us from ever being able to close the north endzone.

That is something we were mentioning at the game. Maybe building the "Beast" after filling in the stadium.

*The tailgating scene was fun. Met some fun Arky fans. It was so spread out (compared to Knoxville) that it felt kind of deserted. Not used to having that much space.

*Stadium was nice and that Jumbotron was awesome! Only gripe was that I have never waited so long to take a leak. The line for the MEN'S room was ridiculous. Way too few urinals.

* I stopped by the Big Orange Tailgate Tour that the alumni association put together. The indoor track facility is first class. (So was the bartender)

Aside from having to sit through the Vols getting man handled and pushed around the field, I had a great time. I have to say though, Arky fans that I met were class acts!
