Well, I lurk here on the boards for the most part and just post now and again. I don't really know where my post fits in with all the other topics so first off I apologize for creating another UT/UF post.
Here's just a few things that sticks out to me.
I don't think Urban M. has enough experience in the SEC to run the table but watching the game tonight and watching how Florida played and especially Leak it reminded me alot of UT's National Championship team with Tee Martin leading the charge. My brother-in-law even commented that Leak wasn't doing anything all that great most of the night but he done enough to get his team the win. He'd make some really bad passes but when it came crunch time he fired it in there and got the first downs. They looked sloppy but they got the job done and it really made me think of our title team.
I don't know how to fix UT's special teams because I'm not a coaching guru or anything. I do know that for the past few years it's been steadily sliding down and now it's more of a hurt than a help. I'm not going to blame Colquitt for one bad punt or the pass. Everyone makes a couple of mistakes. I saw plenty of other players all night on the defensive side consistently missing tackle after tackle or blowing coverage.
I'm a little down because I am a diehard UT fan but I have to make myself remember these are a bunch of young guys out there playing on a national stage and quite frankly I admire all of them. Yeah, they get on my nerves sometimes but I couldn't do it. I don't know how this year will shake out but now the rest of the games will be easier to watch. I mean now if they have another loss they've already pretty much done themselves in as concerned with the National Title picture so no stress there. More thoughts later when I can organize them a little better.
