Quote from Missouri board

Reminds me of the "Big Boy Football" remark before the GA game last year.

You got it wrong:

It was "Old Man Football," by their DT Sheldon Richardson last season. He's since left and was drafted in the first round by the New York Jets.

Geez, that defensive line would be scary if he stayed his senior year.

After watching the USCjr game you know the wind has been taken out of their sails. Hog Nail Boot (or whatever that quote was). They had a meltdown second half. It may be difficult to get their mind back in the game. They were all about the Cinderella story and coming from nowhere.

Their QB does scare me though. Tough guy. He is a baller. Don't think he makes the best decisions and hopefully our D can trick him into making some bad decisions.

Well seeing how it is my thread that I started it would only make sense for me to continue to post in here. I never said I was done in the thread, I meant i was just done answering stupid questions. So thank you for not asking another one.

You said you were done responding, and yet you keep responding. Any other excuses?

Just watched a replay of the SC/Mizzou game. One thing that seemed to stand out to me was Missouri has some fast looking players. Their wr's are quick and the rb is pretty quick too.

i remember leaving the SECCG in 07 and walking to rock bottom sports bar.

as we waited for a table, i remember seeing a table reservation for "tigers fans". i immediately remembered back to my last meeting with lsu tiger fans in knoxville and how well that didnt go. after that loss, i didnt really want to talk to auburn tiger fans either...as we walked by i noticed it was missouri fans gathering.

i just remember asking my buddy? "dude, who the hell are they? and why are they in atlanta?" which seemed an apt question after swilling a few of their brews.

truthfully. i hope we come out and play well. i know these guys are good. we need to respect them, but, its gonna be tough cause im my mind theyre always gonna be the younger step brother

Honestly I wouldn't want to be Missouri this Saturday. I think we match up very well with them and UT will be coming in pissed as hell after the debacle versus Bama.

We don't match-up well with them at all with our DBs...we don't have 1 DB who can run with or cover them at their speed or height.

We better sell out to pressure and sack their QB and be able to stop their run game. We also will need to run the ball for >200 yards and control the clock if we want to have a real chance to win this game….Once again--it's time for this OL to put up or shut up….I think we can get it done, but it's gonna be a long, hard game that will probably come down to the last few minutes..GO VOLS!

I have to wonder how many times this false information is going to be passed on. They ARE big. They DO play well in their system. Washington has pretty good SEC speed. DGB has SEC athleticism if not great outright speed. The rest of their guys are Josh Briscoe/Jason Swain type talents... if that.

UT's DB's will match up with them as well or better than USCe's did. They're good. But they're not going to remind you of Bama, Oregon, or even UGA before all the injuries.

Mizzou has a system. If UT gets sucked into playing their game then it could be a difficult game to win. But you are making giants out of players who just aren't.

Their system is something to be concerned with. Their talent and overall athleticism isn't.

I've been to Columbia several times...stadium is a joke. Would be like playing at the open practice before the season started. IMO it would almost be easier than a home start for Dobbs. TIFWIW

"someone better tell Tiny he is in trouble. Missouri wins by 28 to prove they are great."

Missouri may very well win and I do respect their defensive line but no way I see them winning by 28 points. I would be suprised if they beat us by more than 14. I am expecting us to be in the game in the 4th quarter with a possible chance for a win no matter who is playing quarterback for UT. Hope Randolph is healthy, that almost worries me more than Dobbs possibly getting his first start on the road. I still expect we might see Worley some though. Either way Dobbs is the type of guy that will prepare himself for whatever role the team needs him to fill.

Mizzu has a board?

Mizzou ended their season on Saturday.

I would not be surprised to see an 08(?) Vandy finish

The backup QB is only throwing about 45% accuracy though. That's where the key lies, I think.

They would have been gathering to watch then #1 Missouri play then #9 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Oklahoma beat Missouri 38-17 (the game was 14 all at half) to beat them the second time that season (the first OU won 41-31, having an 18-7 fourth quarter).

It was that loss, combined with Pitt beating #2 WVU 13-9, that put OSU back in the title game and allowed the broadcast analysts and networks to lobby so heavily that LSU should be in it, which jumped them from #7 to #2.

I'm told there's a surprising amount of Missouri graduates in Atlanta though.

Those games with OU were not as competitive as the scores... and Chase Daniel does not play for this Mizzou team.

That was the year Missouri got hosed out of a BCS game because of the "lost your conference championship" situation. The Kansas team they beat a week earlier got the Orange Bowl invite they would have gotten had they not lost in the B12 Championship game.

A) I didn't say or imply that he did anywhere

B) I didn't say that it was closer than the score anywhere...(I even outlined that OU scored almost 20 in the last quarter of the latter and outlined OU pretty much doing the same in the championship game's second half)

I call that the Tennessee treatment based off of 2001 :).

But yes, exactly. It's why a Kansas fan (we have one around here) will throw out "we've won a BCS bowl" at a Missouri fan...presuming said Kansas fan actually agress to talk about Kansas football

yeah I'm a little concerned about that as well. I'd like to know how good Missouri's offensive line is? pass blocking wise? I think we can contain their run decently, but it would be nice to be able to get in their QB's face all game like we did with Shaw in the USCe game. I think we might be able to get some pressure on him which should help our DB's out tremendously.

And after looking it up I just saw Missouri was 89th in the country in sacks allowed per game heading into last week. That sounds like it might be an issue for them, and it is definitely a huge key to the game for us to come out on top.

Mauk hangs on to the ball a long time waiting for someone to come open deep. Rarely checks down. I think the opportunity will be their for sacks and INT's this week.

Have you guys watched them play? If you have, and you don't think they are good then you are watching with blinders on. Their D-Line is quite good.

I think they're good, but I also think they are REALLY missing James Franklin. Their current QB is the definition of a game manager.
