R.I.P. Ralph Stanley

A Bluegrass icon. I was fortunate to see him a couple of times last decade in Golden Gate Park at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival.

he was a kingsport area native. saw him play with Blue Highway, Ricky Skaggs at LMU, and on the Oh Brother Movie Tour.

and once with Doyle Lawson.

It was always a family affair. Ralph Stanley the 3rd got out and played too. Cool stuff!

Love me some Doyle Lawson. I didn't really realize who Ralph Stanley was until I saw on PBS that he passed away but he was a great!
