She’s been everything we’ve hoped she would be this season, and more.

She looks to have finally found a balance while maintaining her motor that we all love and it has really paid off.

She’s now shooting 53% from the floor, 50% from three, and 79% from the free throw line. All are over 10 percentage points higher than her averages last season.

She’s also been a really effective facilitator, averaging 3.8 APG with an A/TO ratio of 1.5, which is solid for her position.

All while averaging a team-best 20.5 PPG.

Seeing her, for the most part, find a balance between speeds instead of going out of control has been a major bright spot.

I know we’re only four games in, but her inprovement is noticeable and it’s tough not to get excited about. Hope she can keep this up through SEC play!

Cautious to assess after a few games, but clearly emerging as a leader which has been largely lacking in recent years.

What's wrong with Davis? All coach needs to do is get 2 more players to play like Rae..We can't compete with a good team when one player is a star and Davis playing like Rae did Voodoo on her to take away her points.

Great job Rae keep it up! I also love how she keeps picking up Rennia when she is down both her and Jordan! However against Furman she went and got hers and knew Re was still off and didn’t force it. Against WVU she deferred and kept waiting. she passed up shots this game (even though against lesser competition) she hunted her shots!

Hey Ms. Burrell, CONGRATULATIONS on a great game. I believe you have a caged lioness inside of you, and she is ready to come out. I think you are the LEADER that this team needs on and off the floor. Remember, that your hard work will stand a great testament to who you are currently, and who will be in the future. Once again CONGRATULATIONS, GO LADY VOLS!!!!!!

I always said it that she's 30 point player in any game. The best is yet to come out of her.

I am hoping the emergence of Rae will inspire Rennia. It has not happen so far, but I am still hoping.

The biggest difference between Rae and Rennia is quickness. Rae’s bursts of quickness allow her to shake defenders and get open to shoot. Rennia can’t glide herself into getting open against small, speedy defenders, and has to pass out of trouble. Rae IS trouble — FOR opposing defenses!

I like, "Rae IS trouble for opposing defenses". Vic is going to double team her for sure.

And when are those people who create those player watch lists going to recognize the fact that Rae Burrell is one of the most dynamic, exciting players in the country? Some might think, Don’t jinx her by putting her on those lists!” I honestly don’t think she’d let that pressure her. Rae is just out there having a ball doing what she clearly enjoys doing. I am so happy for her!

True, but that will certainly help Rennia. And then if Rennia gets the hot hand Vic will have some decisions to make. In my opinion, I would think the Lady Vols would suffer more by Rae being shut down than Rennia because Rae is so disruptive on both ends.

Quick poll: How many points would Rae have scored if she had played 40 minutes? She scored 26 points in 24 minutes.

If she's playing well she doesn't need to play 40mts in order to score high point. Players who play 40mts must be doing something well on the court to stay there.

Rennia's biggest issue seems to be her lack of aggressiveness on the offensive end of the floor. She is easily intimidated into stopping her drive. She has the talent, she just needs to be relentless trying to get to the bucket. I've watched Arkansas and they are relentless in trying to get to board. It's wave after wave until the defense breaks down and you get a lay up or a shooter is left wide open on the perimeter for a kick out.

Rae is not just making shots. She's drilling them.

Yes. She is shooting the ball as a player who KNOWS it's going in, and that's because she is clearly getting up so many shots on her own that she no longer thinks about it. She just lets her body do what she's trained it to do. Rae's confidence is evident in her body language and expressions. For some other players, they appear to me to be merely HOPING the shot will go in as the ball leaves their hands. They've temporarily lost trust in their own well-proved abilities to be that kind of player who KNOWS her shots will go in. The confidence will come back -- hopefully on Sunday.

Dear Rae: Don't change. Anything. Not your socks, not your pregame meal, not your braid, not your bodywash. Please live in a hermetically sealed bubble where you watch film, meditate, and read your Bible, leaving only for practice and games. Thanks!

Rae is in that rare zone an athlete occasionally hits where it all comes together. She's moving efficiently and with confidence, smooth and in synch. It's a dramatic turnaround.

Four games in, it has to be more than a fluke. Obviously can't keep up at this clip (can she?) but she's established enough of a threat to draw serious defensive attention. Which should really help take pressure off Rennia to try to get back on track.
