First Read - New White House chief of staff soon?

MR. ROSE: Is there any other job in government you'd like to have?
MR. EMANUEL: In government?
MR. ROSE: In government.
MR. EMANUEL: Yeah.
MR. ROSE: What?
MR. EMANUEL: It's no secret --
MR. ROSE: You want to be Speaker of the House.
MR. EMANUEL: Well, that's over.
No. I would one day -- first of all, let me say it this way: I hope Mayor Daley seeks reelection. I will work and support him if he seeks reelection. But if Mayor Daley doesn't, one day I would like to run for mayor of the city of Chicago. That's always been an aspiration of mine -- even when I was in the House of Representatives.

I have nothing against the people of Chicago, but if they elect Rahm to be the mayor then they deserve everything they get as a result.

I love Chicago, but they've been electing Daley since 1989. I question their decision making skills.

Rahm has to have something for an exit strategy. The ship's sinking boys. Every leftist for themselves....which ironically contradicts their philosophy...

He has until November 22 to qualify. Time's a tickin'

The inside scoop.

Mr. Olbermann apologized to the Committee for not meeting his August slander quota. This month he’s targeting Ingraham, Breitbart, Glenn Reynolds, Hannity, and Mallard Fillmore.

(Hope this doesn't ruin the thread for anyone.)

Chicago needs a good ballet dancer,
at least he will be out of Washington!

Some heavy set guys will pay this guy a visit. Make him an offer he can't refuse.

I notice a lot of scandal is coming out against Jesse Jr. There have been rumors he might run. I guess the attack machine is not taking any chances and already hitting him.

WLS-AM 890

If memory serves me correctly you have to be a resident for one year prior to the election he is running in. With less than five months to go, I'd say there is a concern here for him.

The irony here is that Rahm was the conservative in the WH. He managed to keep everything more towards him. With the "conservative" gatekeeper leaving, the swing will be farther to the left.

Rahm Emanuel began his campaign for Chicago
mayor Friday by learning he doesn't have a legal
residence in Chicago.

He can't force his tenants to move out of his
house for the two years left on the lease.

If you think Rahm is angry, imagine how the
president reacted when he heard that his
chief-of-staff had only leased out his house
for four years.
