Charged with third degree felony stalking...

He told his girlfriend of 3 years "time to die" in a text message after they argued.

She now wishes he had not been arrested and is more afraid of the UF fans than of him.

As I remembered him leaving with a concussion against South Florida I thought about this story:

Owen Thomas, Penn player who committed suicide, had brain disease - ESPN

I wonder if years from now it will be shown with more certainty how much of the violence and other impulse related behavior is impacted by brain injury.

It is a wonder that in the time period of Alzada and others shooting up anabolic all the time and running into people so hard they knocked themselves unconscious that NFL stars were not involved in more crimes. I suppose that speaks somewhat to poor impulse control being at least somewhat cultural and environmental rather than purely biological.

There's a whole field of research on this, and the findings are pretty shocking.

I think unless there is a lot I do not know about his background that he will get a good plea. He is EXACTLY the kind of player UT needs in terms of speed.

Too bad we have too many like him to afford giving him a chance to turn his life around.

Maybe he will end up at Hampton.

I think his iPhone autocorrected his original text "time to diet". Still not a nice text but hardly a felony.

Not sure if anyone saw this already and mentioned it and I know the player it is coming from losses a lot of credibility seeing he got himself in major hot water from the sounds of it, but the quote - nontheless - is interesting given their lack of spark on offense so far:

Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said Rainey is "not a part of our team right now," ESPN reports. (Sep 14)

Source: Chris Rainey Stats, Splits, News, Photos - Florida Gators - NCAA College Football - ESPN

..........I completely misread that quote, that is what I get for posting after crawling around the attic in insulation running cable and posting after midnight on a workday! This post can be burned, deleted, tossed, whichever! Sorry! (I thought it was Rainey saying something about the OC not the OC saying something about Rainey.....my dumb moment of the night!)

Since we will get merged anyway, Clay Travis just tweeted that the "girl" in question is 38 years old.

Sounds like he's got serious "mommy" issues...

He doesn't have parents. While in high school he lived with the Pouncey's and has sense been practically adopted by the Meyer's. He spends most holidays and break periods with them.

As for the case? The female in question, who's 35, requested that all charges be dropped. In fact, she didn't call the police nor did she or the people involved want him arrested. Obviously, he and the women in question were going through a "lovers spat", he was being an idiot and sent that completely inappropriate and ridiculous text, and now he's paying for it. Due to the circumstances, I expect him to be suspended for a few games, most likely 3 or 4.

I could see it being set at four, then "reduced" to "Until the Alabama game, we forgot that was so soon."
