A lot of chatter about it all season since Florida, LSU and Bama win. Thoughts? Personally I say retain everybody for relationship/recruiting and fill the cupboard for a couple of years.

The defense has to get better. Heupel will have to decide if he believes that's a talent issue or a coaching/scheme issue.

I don't understand how CJH claimed the defense was going to be as aggressive as the O yet rarely blitz at all and sit back in soft zone 90% of the time.
They blitzed a lot earlier in the season , but have quit the last few games. Tonight was the worst though.

This monumental loss will be a setback for Heupel and staff financially. Who gives up 66 points to a team averaging under 20? They usually win the XO battle but not tonight and they picked the absolute worst time to get hosed.

It’s both to an extent, but obviously, the defensive coaching is not good at all. “When something works, go back to what hasn’t.” One of Banks’s maxims

I hear you but the only coach I’ve ever heard of giving money back out of shame of performance was Jim Harbaugh

Look! Understand the disappointment, but after we beat Vandy let give CJH a significant bump in salary and fix the DC and DB situation we pay him to make the big decisions!

I’m fine extending him and even giving a raise. Getting to 10 or more wins in year 2 while ending the Bama streak is still a big deal.

I don’t think White has to dictate to him to overhaul the staff, but I think Heupel is smart enough to know when a change is needed.

84volfan,Because,until tonight,Rattler had not shown that he could pass the ball well enough,or his receivers catch enough,to put pressure on them.

Heupel does not seem to have close ties to Tim Banks, not sure how Heupel came to hire Banks to begin with. UT's administration seems to be willing to spend money, Heupel needs to go out and get a big name DC.
