He's back......and possibly as Trump's campaign manager. Wonder who will get screwed this time?

Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition will host a massive Faith and Freedom Conference and Strategy Briefing in D.C. next month, and has invited a veritable who’s who of Republican heavy-hitters to attend. Of course, given Reed’s ignominious and scandalous background......Mitt Romney joins House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Rep. Ron Paul, Sen. Rand Paul, Rep. Allen West, and Donald Trump on the guest list.

Political Animal - Palling around with scandal-plagued Ralph Reed

Ralph Reed is nothing more than a religious entrepreneur and a hack.

For those who think I never have a kind thing to say about Republicans, I will say that although I don't like his politics the guy is very smart and well spoken. I respect his intellect and liken him to a George Will in that respect.

Reed was named in the scandal arising from lobbying work performed by Jack Abramoff on behalf of Indian gambling tribes. E-mails released by federal investigators in June 2005 revealed that Reed secretly accepted payments from Abramoff to lobby against Indian casino gambling and oppose an Alabama education lottery.[14] Additional e-mails released in November 2005 show that Reed also worked for another Abramoff client seeking to block a congressional ban on Internet gambling.

Those e-mails and other evidence revealed the participation of the Christian Coalition in the alleged fraud, particularly the Alabama chapter of the Christian Coalition, which received large amounts of donations from the casino money. It is alleged that Abramoff engaged Reed to set up an anti-gambling campaign to include the U.S. Family Network, the Christian Coalition, and Focus on the Family in order to frighten the tribes into spending as much as $82 million for Abramoff to lobby on their behalf.

The report states that under the guidance of the Mississippi Choctaw tribe's planner, Nell Rogers, the tribe agreed to launder money because "Ralph Reed did not want to be paid directly by a tribe with gaming interests." It also states that Reed used non-profits, like Grover Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform, as pass-throughs to disguise the origin of the funds, and that "the structure was recommended by Jack Abramoff to accommodate Mr. Reed’s political concerns."
details on him....

For those who think I never have a kind thing to say about Republicans (because they're all racists), I will say that although I don't like his politics the guy is very smart and well spoken (for a racist). I respect his intellect (for a racist) and liken him to a George Will (another racist) in that respect.

fyp to reflect your usual kneejerk reaction to anybody who dares criticize Obama

I've never said that about Reed. Can't recall him ever saying anything concerning in that regard, at all.

And I have?

Your "fyp" of my post seemed to say that I claim that all Republicans are racist, something which I have repeatedly disavowed. I was pointing out that in the case of Reed I had specifically not made such a claim and noted he had given no reason to.

I am not surprised this went over your head.

Sort of hard not to, really.

the part in bold is a load of crap. You will back away when you are challenged to provide proof (as shown in my thread regarding the lack of looting in Japan after the earthquake), but that's hardly disavowing your constant mantra that those who dare criticize Obama from the right are racists.

That's a lot of opportunity when it seems like every politician has to make nearly every single little detail about their counterparts a point of contention not because they believe it, but because they are following party lines.

No, I said that it was not surprising that the right would seize on absence of looting in Japan and, rather than focus on differences in overall culture as the likely cause, instead urge that it was the absence of "multiculturalism" that led to absence of looting.

I am sure that, by absence of "multiculturalism" you and your kind were describing the absence of Baptists, blondes, and the left handed, right?

Please. It was so transparent.
